Gianni Versace S.r.l., or simply Versace, is an Italian luxury fashion house and trade mark founded in 1978 by Gianni Versace. Versace's primary collection, featured high-end Italian ready-to-wear and leather accessories.
In 2000, Jennifer Lopez showed up to the 42nd Grammy Awards wearing a Versace gown made of green silk chiffon and created by Gianni's sister Donatella.
Citrines were inserted into the dress's waist and the sheer fabric's tropical leaf and bamboo motif was printed on it. The low neckline of the dress extended well beyond Lopez's navel. Prior to Lopez, it was worn by Spice Girl Geri Halliwell and Donnatella Versace, the designer, although they did not garner as much notice.
