Previously, Shiro applied for a job as Laxus's secretary and almost immediately noticed something about her interviewer: he was Laxus himself. But she also almost slipped up and forgot one of the things she had been asked to do from the start. Has she impressed him enough to get the job? Will she be able to use her position for her demon master's new tasks and keep her brothers alive? Let's start to unravel some of these mysteries in the latest installment of Can't Touch You!

What was it about this guy that made me relax enough to almost slip up like that?

I hated it.

Dreyar-san sits back down with a chuckle. "Most people I interview don't notice who I am. They're all focused on what I present."

"Well, you can't be very good at that. You're speaking just like I'd expect you to speak like." I comment. It was true. This whole conversation, he'd been acting like he was in charge. My brothers had done enough acting that I knew what to look for. "You might want to act meeker."

Dreyar-san startles, his hand raising to his mouth. He just stares at me for a second, his expression indecipherable through his black lenses. "Alright, that concludes this interview. You can go."

I bow slightly, keeping my eyes on his sunglasses, and leave. As I pass through the lobby, a familiar voice whispers in my ear, "Be careful. Even if you're working for him, we're watching you."

I quickly turn, catching sight of long brown hair. Cana-san. Panic grips my heart. Is it going to happen again? Stupid Dreyar-san! I can't let your mind games cause my heart to slip up again. Not after last time.

I pick up the pace. I want to get out of here.

Laxus Dreyar

I watch as Kononoke Shiro, as she introduced herself, leaves the lobby. She pauses, a second as a woman with brown hair passes her. She looks back, panicked and hurt, but swiftly turns away and leaves. As soon as she exits the door, I turn back to look for the brown-haired woman, but she's gone.

Before I can figure out this little mystery, someone taps my shoulder. It's Bixlow.

"Ah, Mister Haiyokama. I think I've chosen someone to hire. Her name is Kononoke Shiro and she's the one who just left." I inform him. "Now if you don't mi-"

"Kononoke?" Bixlow stares out the door, questioningly. "Shiro?"

"Ye-es?" I answer, hesitantly. "What's the problem?"

"Nothing," Bixlow answers, lost in thought, "I just could've sworn I knew her."

"Hmm?"

"Does the name Saike Shiro ring any bells?"

"Ah, yes. The younger sister to the three Saike brothers from Japan? Of whom nobody knows anything about? And dropped off the map six years ago?" I consider it. "It seems unlikely. Saike Shiro is very likely about to make a debut in the acting industry. After all, her brothers are there. It's probably a way to amp up the hype."

"Yeah, probably. I didn't know her very well anyway."

"Oh, right. Two out of three of the Saike brothers went to Haiyokama children's home. I forgot."

"Ouch." Bixlow pretends to have been stabbed by my comment about the Japanese orphanage he came from and how easily it can be forgotten.

"That's enough playing around, Mr. Haiyokama, we need to get to work."
