Hi Guys thanks for checking out my new fanfic!

Note: Some of the scenes like the ending are lines used from the actual show and are not mine. Those are property of MTV. But sometimes I might need to use them and so this is me saying although I'm using them. I don't anyway own them.

When Lindy finally comes to, the first thing that registers in her foggy brain is that she can’t stop trembling. Her whole body is shaking and she can’t stop it. It’s almost like her body knows to be afraid, before her mind does.

“Please,” a voice pleas brokenly.  Lindy's eyes move to gaze at the scene unravelling in front of her.

Reese is tied to a chair with a present resting in his hands, almost naked, he's been beaten to the point his skin raw and starting to bleed over; while a masked figure stands behind him, a knife poised ready at Reese's throat. Lindy moves to stand-to try and help Reese somehow. But her footing is uneven. Her footfalls are heavy. But yet she tries anyway.

"No!" The cry rips from her mouth as she stumbles to the ground, the killer silting Reese's throat. The present falls to the ground in a soft motion. That's when Lindy hears the faint sound of police sirens coming closer. One look at the killer, tells her that they heard it too. The killer-he or she kneels down in front of her. They reach out a hand and Lindy flinches, expecting to feel the sting of physical pain. But it never comes. Instead, a hand caresses her left cheek softly for a moment. Then it’s gone and when she looks up, so are they...

Moments later, the cops arrive. Among them is Tommy. He appears relieved, yet frantic when his brown eyes meet hers. As the other two cops get to work putting Reese in a body bag, Tommy kneels in front of her. Shrugging off his jacket to wrap around her shoulders, he begins to search her body for any visible signs that she's hurt.

"Are you okay?" He finally asks, looking back up at her face. She nods and opens her mouth, but no words follow. She tries several more times to speak, but again no words would come out. Instead, choosing to sag her weight against Tommy’s shoulder. She takes a deep, shuddering breath as she tries to get control of her heart pounding in her chest.

Although she didn’t know Reese very well and he gave her the creeps, she feels like crying. But not out of sadness. Out of anger. The killer had taken another life with her sitting right there with a front row to watch and she did nothing to stop him. Tommy just squeezes her to his chest in comfort.

After a few minutes of sitting there in silence with Lindy sniffling here and there, Tommy looks at her. The concern is clear on his face. "Maybe should get you out of here now."

The words in the sentence may sound like a question, but his tone leaves no room for argument. She's leaving Reese's murder place whether she likes it or not.

"Can you stand and walk okay?" He asks now, a soft undertone to his original voice, "Or do I need to carry you?"

At this question, the brunette shrugs her shoulders. Her brain feels little less foggy than it did earlier, but that doesn't mean the drug has left her system completely yet. But she reaches her arms up anyway. Tommy seemed to get the message as he leans down and helps her to her feet.

Now on her own feet, her legs still feel like jelly. She stumbles to the ground when she tries to walk. But Tommy catches her before she can fall. He readjusts his grip, so one hand is cradling the back of her knees. Then she's in his arms, the feeling of the weight of the world finally falling off her shoulders in on false swoop. She leans into him, her mind is to exhausted to argue with him for the moment. Her eyes fall shut as Tommy walks forward.

"Lindy," Tommy says, opening his car door and setting her inside. "Don't go to sleep yet. I want to make sure you don't have a concussion."

Lindy nods her head, but it's easier said than done. She feels as he readjusts her in the seat, before she heard the distinct click of a seat belt.

"Don't fall asleep." Tommy repeats.

"I'm not." She argues in a mumble, "I'm just resting my eyes."

“Sure,” Tommy replies sarcastically. Before his tone softens, “I’ll be right back okay?”

Lindy nods in response, before she hears the sound of a car door closing. Tommy returns a moment later, this time with another person.

"Take it easy on her. She's been through a lot." Tommy says to the person standing beside him and Lindy opens her eyes. She squints when the flash of a badge in her line of vision. She holds up a hand to stop him when he goes to open his mouth. Then Lindy tells him everything she can remember from the night before and passing out at her party then waking up just in time to see Reese being murdered.

After she was done with her story, she looks up at Tommy.

“Can we go home now? I just want to sleep.” She yawns as she sags against the leather seat of Tommy’s car and curls up in a ball in an attempt to keep warm.

“Not yet. I want to have a paramedic look at you and make sure you don’t have a concussion.” Tommy answers leaning over to turn up the heat a little more.

“Don’t fall asleep.” Lindy just nods turning away from the two cops. She hears one of them sigh, (Most likely Tommy) before the door is shut softly again.

“She’s certainly a handful isn’t she?” She hears the other cop’s muffled question.

“You have no idea.” Tommy answers as they walk away.

The next time Tommy comes back a few moments later, he has a paramedic with him. After she answers a few questions and they perform a few tests, the paramedic then gives her the all clear.

“You might want to monitor her as the drug slowly leaves her system though. Make sure nothing happens.” She says and Tommy nods. When he gets in the car, he makes sure Lindy is warm enough and that her seat belt is secure enough. It’s almost as if he’s afraid she’ll disappear before his eyes.

“I’m not going to disappear you know.”  Lindy yawns as she shifts in her seat. Tommy just shakes his head.

“You did last night.” He says, before he releases a sigh. “I should’ve never left you alone at that party last night.”

“It wasn’t your fault, Tommy.” Lindy tells him. She knows it wasn’t. But that doesn’t stop the uneasy feeling that has settled in the pit of her stomach since she has woke up. She doesn’t hear what he says as her eyes finally slide close and she falls into a dream-like state.

The next day, they stand and watch from afar as Jake is released.

“Somebody set him up.” Lindy says softly.

“Looks that way.” Tommy explains, “He was in custody when you witnessed Reese’s murder. The clothes were planted in his apartment. He’s not our guy.”

Lindy looks up at him, not sure what to say. She looks away. That uneasy feeling is back. Tommy notices her silence and his next words are soft. “I should’ve never left you alone at that party. I made a bad call. And what happened to you, that’s on me. I’ll never let that happen again okay?”

Lindy nods. “Peter, Reese, Ben. He killed them off to get to me.”

“Lindy, you can’t keep thinking li-”

“Why did he let me live last night?” She cuts him off.

“Well maybe if he’s looking for flaws, he doesn’t see any in you.” Tommy tries to reasons. She shakes her head. “Perfection doesn’t exist and he sick to think that it does. Everyone is flawed, especially me…What do you think he’s gonna do when he finally figures that out?”

Tommy doesn’t know how to respond…
