Tommy waits. He waits and asks questions. He waits by the ambulance for Lindy to wake up, hovering so much that he’s starting to make all the paramedics crazy with his questions.

“Sir,” one finally speaks up with a frown and worried eyes, “We’re doing everything for your girlfriend sir. Just stay calm.”

Now he sighs. He is so preoccupied with his thoughts that he misses the fact that they refer to Lindy as his girlfriend.   They say patience is a virtue, but that doesn’t mean that Tommy had to like it. He was never good at waiting anyway…

Jake presses his lips together in a thin line as he watches Detective Calligan. The Australian watches for a few moments longer, before he steps up to where Connor and Sophia are hugging. Crossing his arms over his chest, Jake opens his mouth to speak.

“So tell me,” he starts off his question, “Do I have a fighting chance with her or should I bow out now?”

Sophia looks up, the ever present pout on her face. But now her eyebrows rise in question. “What are you talking about?”

“Them,” Jake nods towards where Detective Calligan is still fretting over Lindy. “He cares about her. Don’t try and tell me you two can’t tell?”

The two best friends look at each other. They could tell, but they had been hoping Jake wouldn’t. It was wishful thinking of course.  He was after all, a lawyer. It was his job to notice things.

Lindy wakes up with a horrible headache.  Moving to sit up, she groans softy when her headache worsens at the slight movement.

“Lindy,” Tommy appears above her. He wears a concerned expression, but otherwise seems relieved. She groans again at the sound of his booming voice.

“Sorry,” his tone is now soft and soothing. A second later she feels his calloused fingers moving through her hair while he explains how Yeager and Sophia had found her unconscious in the basement with a welt on the back of her the size of an egg.

"I told you to pull back." Tommy scolds lightly after he's done talking. All the while, his fingers are still moving through her hair.

Lindy cracks a rueful smile, her eyes peeling open to look at his. His eyes are filled with concern, worry, anger, and another emotion Lindy can't quite read. "And I told you, someone had to do it or the whole club would've blown up."

Tommy opens his mouth to respond, but a paramedic coming over stops him from talking.

"My guess is that you'll be staying with me tonight." Yeager calls, as he makes his way to where Sophia, Connor, and Jake are still talking. Sophia stops in the middle of her thought and looks at the detective.

"Why?"

"The chief thinks it's the safest for you and Lindy tonight. You and Connor are coming home with me. While Lindy goes home with Tommy." He explains. Sophia's eyes fall to where Detective Calligan and her best friend are arguing.

"Is that what they're auguring about?" She asks and Yeager nods his head as a silent yes.

"Why don't you ask him?" She suggests to the Australian, pointing to Yeager, “He’s knows Detective Calligan better than we do.”

"Ask me what?" Yeager asks.

“If I have a fighting chance with her. Because every time I try to spend some time with her, that cop comes or is around watching us or intervening between us.”
