Chapter Five - The Basilisk Bane

-Editing in Process-

As we walk into the cabin, I turn to Percy, "We might be gone for a few days. I'm not completely sure how long, but better safe than sorry. So remember pack light, only essentials," I instructed. Percy nodded his head and went to pack his stuff. I did the same, pulling out my backpack from under my bed I set it on top. I grab a few changes of clothes, my wallet, my phone I know we're not really supposed to have them but it's for emergencies, along with water and snacks. My sword, however, is too large to fit in my backpack and it doesn't have the same ability as Riptide, only Riptide can turn into a pen. So I strapped the sheath of my sword onto my back and place it inside. I sling my backpack over my shoulder I pick up my car keys and step outside the cabin. Percy was already waiting for me outside leaning against the wall.

"Ready?" Percy asked.

"Yep. Got everything you need?"

"Yes. Where do we go first?" Percy asked.

"The place where I grew up. I need to speak with Leucondia," We started to walk towards the gate.

"Wait. How are we getting there?" I show him my car keys.

"We'll take my car." Percy raised an eyebrow.

"Wait you can drive?" He looked very surprised by this new piece of information.

"Dude. I'm 18, of course, I can drive. How else do you think I got here? The bus? There is no way I'm voluntarily getting coughed on by random mortals. And like hell, I would walk here," I gave him a face, "Come on I parked it outside the gate, I hid it behind some of the big pine trees," I led him to the place where I hid my car. We removed the branches, I put on top of her to keep her hidden, revealing my sweet black 67' chevy impala. A grin spread across my face, she was my sweet 16 birthday present from dad. Oh, how I have missed driving her this past couple of days. "Isn't she a beauty?" I asked.

Percy looked at me confused, "She? You refer your car as a she?"

"Yes. Of course, my car is a she, Vicky is a badass," I said. Percy just looked at me like I was crazy. I shook my head, "Whatever just get in," I unlock the car and got into the driver's side, Percy sat shotgun. I put the keys into the ignition and started heading home.

We arrive a day later. I pull into the driveway, I turn off the engine and let out a big yawn. Driving for 24 hours straight is exhausting, I looked over to the snoring person next to me Percy was knocked out, with his big mouth gaping open, he fell asleep a couple of hours ago. I look out the windshield of my car, looking at the house before me. I smiled, home sweet home. Now, the house wasn't extravagant or huge, it was a simple bungalow. The exterior was painted white, with a blue door. Inside it is a two-level house, containing 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and living room. This is the place where I grew up and man I missed my bed. I turn to Percy and shake him awake, "Bro, we're here."

Percy jolts up, hitting his head on the top of the car. "Ow," He rubbed the top of his head, looking at his surrounding, "Where are we?"

"My house," I undid my seat belt, "Now come on get out." I open the door and step out of my car. I walked to the back to the trunk and grabbed my bag. I walked up to the door, pull out my house key and unlocked the door. I step through the doorway, tossing my bag to the floor, "I'm home-" I was tackled with a hug, if it wasn't for my fast reflexes by holding onto the door frame I would've fallen to the floor. My attacker's hug started to squeeze me even harder, making it difficult to breathe. I pat Leucondia's back. "Mom. Squeeze any harder and you'll crush me into dust." I wheezed.
