I walked into science only to find that I was completely wrong. I mean I'm not much of a nerd but I seriously should've guessed that this would happen.
After all, I was the first person to speak up about my opinion on Rebecca.
First and probably last.
I sit at the back of the class so that I have less socialising to do. It has always been especially hard for an outcast like me.
The only people who have actually managed to get past my heavily guarded defensive walls are Lily and Ben. I'm also sort of friends with a few girls from my maths class and that's about it.
By the time I reach my seat past three rows of gaping students, you can almost taste the tension in the air. I probably intruded while everyone was having a thrilling time gossiping about me, the loser who could rebel.
Well, only an hour more of this. Yay!
Science was one of a few classes I didn't share with my best friends. I mentally face- palm myself for not taking history.
I sigh before finally getting my book out. I can already feel myself zoning out while doodling in the margin. I only look up once to check the time.
9:43 Weird. I'm sure first period starts at quarter to 9:00 and ends at 9:45
Hmm.... That's in exactly two minutes.
Wait, what ?! Shit! I must've slept through the whole lesson!
I look around to find Mr Horan cleaning the board and most of the students packed and leaving. Shoving my book in my bag hastily, I rush out of the class.
And since karma is a complete and utter bitch, I suddenly remember that I left my timetable at home meaning I have no idea which class I'm supposed to attend next.
I scan the corridor frantically.
0 humanoids spotted.
Just my luck.
I'm about to go and look further when I feel a strong arm gripping my arm. "Hey, Annabelle,"
My heart rate is rapid and inconsistent as I am swiftly spun round to face none other than Sean Lawless. Much better known as the bad boy's hot best friend.
I'm lost as I take in his perfect features. That gorgeous tanned face. Slanted cheekbones, ocean blue eyes that pierce right into mine, the dark curls of hair that flop just short of his eyes, the angular chin and the faint stubble that shadows it.
Yum....
" If you're done checking me out, then I would like to say that we have Maths next. Oh yeah, you can also borrow my notes from Science since you probably didn't hear about the quiz. And my spare timetable - as long as you bring it in tomorrow." He says in his chocolatey smooth voice.
Quite obviously, I ignored him.
I didn't catch much of what else he said since I was too busy secretly - or not - checking him out.
I only understood just how close we were when I felt his chest vibrating as he spoke. I looked up at him (since he was quite a bit taller than me) and saw him peering at me curiously.
Oh god. He must think I'm such a creep for standing there staring at him. I fought the urge to stand there, all close and cosy, and decided to back up and say something.
It was only when I moved that I realised how much I missed his warmth and cinnamon scent.
" I..um,well you see.... Thanks ?" I managed to babble before spinning quickly on my heel and sprinting off.
" Hey, wait up!" He said before catching up to me with a few paces.
What did he want now, we were already late as it was.
" You need me," he said with a smirk plastered on his face.
I was too busy to play his stupid little games. Places to go, people to see. I continued ignoring him but he should get an award for his persistence.
Finally, I turned around. " What?" I growled " What the hell do you actually want?"
" Well, that's not very nice to say to your knight in shining armour, " Sean stated calmly.
How could he keep his cool like that. It was really getting under my skin.
" My what?! You are so -" I fumed, stalking up to him with clenched fists, shaking them.
" So what? " he mocked recklessly, " gorgeous, hot, sexy - your one true love?"
Quoting Mean Girls 2; ' just when a guy seems perfect he opens his mouth and sounds like an ass'.
" What I was meaning to say before I was so rudely interrupted," he said giving me a pointed look, "was that you don't actually know which classroom we're in."
I gulped. He had to be damn right, didn't he?
"Oh, s-sorry, I just thought that you w-were, well yeah-"
"Flirting with you, messing with your mind like an ass - well there was that too," he exclaimed before jogging in front of me and sending me that cute, lopsided grin of his.
And just like that I was falling head over heels for this God of a boy in front of me all over again.
Annabelle Dale, you are one hell of a sucker for Sean Lawless.
