8. Run Away

"I'm ready just to pack up and run away from everything." - Chris

Stella's POV

Josh pulled out a map of the city. "Where did you get that?" Destiny asked. "And why is my house circled? And my hangout spots, and my-" Jordan started but Josh cut her off. "I got it from Tayler who got it from Asher." Josh told her and she was confused but decided not to argue with it.

He told us all the locations where he'd most likely be. "I think, we do that one first." Josh said. "Why?" I asked him. "Because, I think he'll be there." He said. "Oh wait, maybe there actually- well no- maybe there." Josh kept going, questioning himself. "Why don't we just split up?" Jordan suggested and we agreed to do that.

We went in groups of two's. Tayler and Destiny, Parker and Jordan and me and Josh.

Me and Josh had to go to the furthest away place, which was the forest close to his house. Destiny and Tayler got the caves which were also far away and Jordan and Parker got the most unlikely place he would be, all the cafe's and restaurants.

We went our separate ways and went to see who could actually find Chris.

Destiny's POV

Me and Tayler went to the caves to try and find Chris, I don't know why Josh let me and Tayler go to the caves because I'm already scared and I know he is.

It took us a while to get there but when we did, we just stood at the front of the entrance. "Lady's first." Tayler said and went behind me. "No! Be a man, Tayler!" I hit his chest playfully and he chuckled.

It was so dark and scary. "Maybe if we call his name." Tayler suggested. "Good idea." I told him and we cleared out throats. "CHRIS!" We both screamed down into the cave. "Wait! That was a bad idea." Tayler said quickly. "How?" I asked and he looked at me then the cave. "A monster could jump out." He said and I couldn't tell if he was being serious or not.

But it was a good point, it could've been a bad idea. "Tayler, we need to go down." I told him and he took a deep breath. "Okay, let's go." He took my hand and started walking in. "At least if we die then we die together." Tayler smiled at me and I done it back before telling him how much I loved him in case we did die.

I think we must've made it to the end because there was no more ways to go. "Uhm, caves have endings?" Tayler asked me. "Duh, everything does." I told him and he chuckled. "Even us?" He pouted and I hugged him. "Yes, it's our wedding, our kids and just the rest of our lives together." I told him and he smiled. "I love you Dest." He said. "I love you more Tay." I said it back and then we left the cave. "Let's tell them that we almost died so that we can have attention." Tayler told me and I giggled. "Okay." I smiled at him before kissing him.

Jordan's POV

Me and Parker were running through the town, going to every restaurant and cafe there is.

We didn't know why he would be in any of these but we kept going because we had to find him. No one had texted the group chat saying that they'd found him yet so we had to keep looking.

We ran into Starbucks, which we knew was Chris's favourite. We looked about and we didn't see him, Parker went up to the counter. Something told both of us that he was nearby. "Hi, have you seen a small boy in here or this area recently? He's 4'7, short brown hair, he was probably wearing grey or black." Parker started describing Chris and I kept looking about. "Yes." The barista started, me and Parker's faces lit up. "Really?" I asked and she nodded. "Yes, he was in here about an hour ago and went towards the alley that way." She pointed in the direction of an alley way.

Me and Parker thanked her and ran out the building. "Let's go!" Parker ran ahead of me and I yelled him back. "Wait for me!" He stopped and started walking backwards, he crashed into me. "Oops." He said and done a girly pose. I laughed at him and then we kept going.

We made it and heard crying. "That's him." Parker whispered to me. "I know." I said back, we started walking slowly down the alley way, it was so sketch but we had to do it. For Chris.

"Chris?" I said when we approached him. "Jordan? Parker?" He said, super confused when he saw Parker. "We'll explain about him later." I pointed to Parker. "Now tell us, what's wrong?"

(C= Chris, J= Jordan, P= Parker)

C: Nothing.
J: Something's wrong if your crying.
P: And if you've ran away.
C: I just...
P: Just what?
J: Chris, you can tell us anything.
C: I know because whatever I say goes in one ear and straight back out the other!
J: Shhh, don't yell.
P: Calm.
C: Sorry.
J: Chris, we've been worried.
C: Obviously not, you haven't came.
P: We were at school!
J: And we didn't know where you were!
C: Where's the rest of them?
J: Looking for you, we didn't know where you'd be so we split up.

I have never seen Chris like this before, he never cries. That's how I knew he was really not okay.

C: Well.
J: Parker.
P: Hmm?
J: Can you call the rest of them while I talk to Chris
P: Sure, I hope your okay Chris.
C: Thanks.
P: I love you.
C: I love you two.

Parker went to the main street, out of the alley while I spoke to Chris.

C: Why's he here?
J: Long story short, he's changed, I broke up with Wyatt and now me and him are dating.
C: Wow! Congrats!
J: Thank you.
J: But this isn't about me, what's wrong?
C: I just feel like everyone hates me, I don't feel loved anymore.
J: How?
C: I don't know, I just get that impression.
J: Chris.. we do like you. I promise.
C: Really?
J: Yes!

He started venting to me and I felt bad for him. Honestly. The fact that we make him feel like that is sad, and I knew that we had to make it up to him.

J: Chris, everything will get better from now on. I promise.
C: I doubt it.
J: Chris!
C: What! I hate my life! I have no future! I have no soulmate! I have nothing!
J: Chris! Listen!
C: No! I'm ready to just pack up and run away from everything.

He kept going and going until I was able to calm him down, me and Parker took him to go see the rest of the group.

When we took him back, everyone comforted Chris and I could tell it made him happy. Tayler and Destiny kept telling us that they almost died in the cave but we didn't believe them. Josh and Stella apparently saw Ryder with Layla and Eden but we don't know, it wouldn't surprise me if it was him.

We took Chris home, safely and his parents thanked us. We went home and everything was back to normal. Same with the next morning, school was fine and nothing happened. But when I got home, after about twenty minutes, I got a call...
