Kristine stood pleasantly up on the stage in her costume for the performance. Tonight was opening night.

Diana sat in the front row, her father close at hand to keep her out of mischief. "Mommy looks funny." She said to her father.

Randy simply nodded.

Kristine looked down at them both from the stage and smiled. Randy had been coming more to the rehearsals after Diana had disappeared. Kristine had talked with him about the situation, and Randy was willing to step in and get this man off Kristine's mind.

"Excuse me ladies and gentlemen!" Lucas Hart walked on stage holding a letter.

"For heaven's sake Lucas, we are in the middle of a full rehearsal. What do you want?" John Lot stormed up the steps from his seat by the director.

Lucas handed the letter to John, "I have some exciting news. We will have joining us a billionaire on our hands tonight. Mr. Maxwell Hammerstein will be here; in box five."

Some of the chorus girls gasped. "Box five?" One of them asked.

"Yes...is there something wrong with box five?" Lucas asked.

"It's the box of the Phantom." The young girl replied.

Kristine snickered, but quickly stopped herself as John looked at the girl with fire in his eyes.

John waved a finger at her. "Young lady! I will have none of that. There is nothing wrong with box five, and there is certainly no Phantom!"

The young girl nodded and backed up.

Lucas patted John on the shoulder. "Anyway, let us do our best to impress this Mr. Hammerstein. He is very passionate about the arts, and it says in the letter he is thinking of donating to our cause!"

The actors and actresses looked at each other in enthusiasm. Tonight they must perform like their lives depended on it.

Opening night! It was playing tricks with everyone's mind.

Kristine sat in her room, repeating her lines as to not forget them. She had on a lovely foam green dress that made her brown eyes sparkle. This was like a a dream. It all had happened before. But this time she was determined to make it different; no more of these illusions. She would fix it.

Lucas and John stood in the grand hall dressed in their finest suits. They greeted everyone as the walked through, but they were looking for Hammerstein.

"Have you seen him?" Lucas leaned into John and whispered.

"No. I do hope he shows up sooner or later. The show starts in fifteen minutes!" John grumbled.

All of the sudden a man dressed in mainly black walked through the door and paused. He had on a black cloak that brushed the floor. His black fedora covered his eyes, but his mouth was plainly visible. He seemed to be looking for someone.

Lucas tugged on John's jacket. "Is that him?" He asked pointing towards the gentleman.

John narrowed his brow. "I...I don't really know. He didn't tell us what he looked like."

Amanda walked passed them and over to where the man was standing. She had a small talk with him then took his arm and escorted him toward John and Lucas.

"Gentlemen, I would like to introduce you to Mr. Maxwell Hammerstein." Amanda said.

They both bowed and then Hammerstein did the same.
