"Randy you can't do this!" Kristine begged, as she pulled on his vest. "Can't we just go home and forget about this all?"
Randy pushed her away. "I can not forget what that man did!" He spat out.
Kristine stood back and watched as Randy left the hotel room.
He had gathered some of the toughest, meanest, nastiest, cops in Manhattan, and now Randy wanted revenge.
__________
James stood in the in the middle of his lonely apartment.
His parchments had been packed, and all the candles had been disposed off. The mattress and bedding had been given away. The old recliner sat in a nearby alley way for someone else to have. The precious piano that James had held so dear, had been left to sit.
James had packed the few bags that he owned, with clothes and music parchments.
He had taken Kristine's advice to get out of town, and as far away as possible. Even if that meant never seeing Kristine or his precious little girl again.
A tear rolled down his cheek at the thought, but it wasn't time to let emotions run wild. James had to get out of town as quickly as possible.
James walked out the door and locked it behind him. He sat the key and a months worth of rent on the front desk.
He grabbed a cab and headed for the train station. This was his final day in New York.
__________
Randy and his gang arrived at the train station a half hour ahead. He wanted to make sure he caught this Phantom.
"Make sure you guard all the exits." He said to his men.
Each one took one of the doors. They had dressed casually, but had brought weapons and had taken precautions. They knew how dangerous this man could be.
Randy sat on a bench and pulled out a news paper. He would have to thank Kristine later for the tip on where this psychopath was headed.
He smirked at the idea of his wife. How had they even made a relationship? Kristine was a singer, and Randy was a cop; something could have come out of that. Right? Well, Randy hated singing, and Kristine hated violence or the thought of losing someone to it again. So it wasn't very clear how they had hit it off.
Kristine was beautiful; maybe that is why Randy liked her so much. But that couldn't have been the only reason, right?
Randy shook off the thoughts and tried to concentrate on the mission at hand.
___________
The cab stopped at the train station.
James got out and grabbed his baggage. He stole one last glance at New York.
He walked casually into the train station and got in line for tickets.
"Where to?" The ticket master asked.
"Chicago." James replied.
James got his ticket and walked into the heart of the train station. Swarms of people traveling to and fro. One could have almost got sucked into the chaos.
__________
"Code blue. I repeat we have a code blue." A voice cracked over Randy's ear piece.
"The conductor is moving toward the stage." Said someone else.
This was Randy's cue. He lowered the news paper a little to get a better view of his surroundings. Nothing yet. "Keep up the guard, boys. You never know what kind of tricks he'll try to play." Randy responded over his ear piece.
