Mom, I've gotten so much better.
Mom, I'm doing so good.
Mom, I did everything you wanted.
Why?
Why, is it still not enough?
All I crave is your approval.
All I want is for you to legitimately be proud,
not the proudness you tell me you have just cause you pity me.
I know I'm weak,
I know I'm not as smart as you,
I know I struggle,
But, I just thought,
Me being me would be good enough.
I was wrong.
