𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐈𝐒 𝐒𝐀𝐓 down at his usual lunch table, the rest of the football team surrounding him, blabbering about the game tonight. Kory and Vinnie were busy swapping notes, worried about the upcoming math test next period.
Glancing around the lunchroom, he could see more students –all wearing the same uniform– file into the cafeteria. Before he turned back around, his eye caught a glimpse of the familiar girl who was walking alone. "I'll be right back," Louis muttered as he stood up from his seat.
Both boys didn't say anything, mainly because Louis was so quiet that they didn't even know he had said something. The brunette-haired boy maneuvered around other students, keeping his eye on the singular girl who was now lining up to get something to eat.
Stepping around a group of girls, his path was quickly blocked by Sloane and Nikayla. "Hey, Lou," She sang, flashing her pearly smile at him.
"Er, hey Sloane," He replied as he tried to look around them for Y/n.
"I just wanted to wish you luck for the big game tonight," She said as she tried to move into his line of view. Roughly pushing Nikayla to the side, she stood in front of him with a sweet smile.
"Thanks, but I really need to get somewhere," Louis told her as she placed her hand on his bicep.
"It can wait, can't it?" She asked him, "For me?" She shined her puppy-dog eyes, pouting slightly as she batted her eyelashes. "I barely get to see you anymore, and it's not fair,"
Sighing, he stared at her. "Well, you know where I'll be tonight," He replied, hoping to get her off of his case. "Why don't you stop by. I'll give you a wave,"
"Really? Ugh, you're amazing," She gushed. He had always been used to her being like this, and he never said much about it to anyone.
Everybody knew that Sloane had her eyes on Louis, and they also knew that if you tried anything with him, she would ruin your life. But then again, Y/n had no clue. Or at least everyone thought.
While Louis and Sloane talked, Y/n could see them from the corner of her eye. Scoffing to herself, she tried to pull her eyes away from their bodies, but she couldn't. As much as she didn't want to admit it, she hated seeing them together.
It wasn't that she was jealous, and it wasn't because she was madly in love with him. When they were together –her and Louis– it felt nice, almost relaxing. She hated when he would annoy her and have to listen to his ego overtake his brain, but on the times where it didn't, she had come to enjoy his company.
"This is going to be a bad idea," I muttered to myself as I turned back to the front, praying that the line would move quicker. Thoughts of what Amelia had suggested played over in my mind like a recorder stuck on repeat.
