That morning I left, and the consequences of that choice have spoiled the connection between Five and I. With everyone for that matter, I have been not only pushing myself away from Five but my entire family. Only on some occasions, I'll let Klaus or Ben in, but that's only sometimes. After that morning, Five has been more distant, colder in his responses toward me, but despite all of that he would still watch me when I was down or scowl anytime Ben and I talked. I would feel a knot of jealousy every time I saw him talk to Vanya. He would catch my eyes in those moments and a satisfied smirk would appear on his face. I hated it, I hate that I want to be the one he was talking to. I hate that I want to be the one who can make him smile. I hate that I want to be his, and him mine, but that is not a choice if I want to be strong, and not get hurt.

The bell rang and it was time for us to go on the move.

Everyone was a mess besides Vanya, me, and Five. Diego was looking for his knives, Luther was doing push-ups, Allison was trying to find her mask, Klaus almost burned the house down, and Ben was feeling anxious as usual.

Vanya was next to Five and he was listening to her every word, occasionally throwing glances my way.

I looked down, sharpening my knives one by one. I glanced up and saw his arm around her. My mind fogged up with jealousy as I threw my blade that swiftly twirled and cut his face. It returned back to my hand as Vanya gasped and his eyes narrowed at me.

"What was that for number 8?" He inquired, his tone filled with venom. Good. I want him to be angry. I smiled and walked over to him as Vanya got up to leave.

"You need to be more alert Five, rather than getting distracted," I said casually licking my thumb and wiping the blood off of his cheek.

"Cut me again, and you'll regret it." He responds in a low and dangerous voice. I feel a smirk creep up on my face.

"Oh, I bet I will." I tease, and as I turn around I feel his grip on my wrist. He teleports us and he shoves me against the wall. I giggle as I see his angry expression.

"What is wrong with you." He hisses, earning another laugh from me.

"I'm doing just fine...there seems to be something wrong with you," I say sarcastically, and his eyes focus on my every word and move. He's trying to read me...but he can't because at this point I can't even read myself.

"Oh...I get it." He raises a brow as a cruel smile plays on his lips. My heart sinks as his voice surfaces me back to reality. The confidence and arrogance in his words make my confidence wither into nothing. "Is my little bond with Vanya upsetting you?"

"You're free to do whatever you please." I shrug, as if his words don't sting because they do and he doesn't hesitate to add fuel to the fire.

"Well...let me just make this clear to you Y/n..." He whispers as his face inches toward mine.

"Are you guys ready? I have your masks right here." Our mom interrupts and I feel relief rush into me.

"Thanks, mom. Yeah...we're ready." He responds, meeting my eyes one last time before we walk out of his room. What did he want to make clear to me? I have so many questions that flood my head but I don't want the answers to them. So instead focus on what our purpose to live is for. Saving people.

"It's a burglary and the men are holding 12 hostages," Ben informs me, pulling me away from my thoughts.

"It'll be easy," I respond, and he puts a hand on my shoulder. "Y/n are you okay?" I feel eyes burn into the side of my head, and I'm sure it's from Five. I put my hand on Ben's and I see a small smile appear. "I'm doing great Ben thanks for asking."
