"Marinette wake up!" shrieked Tikki in her owner's ear. "Whaat" she grumbled, clearly not in the mood to get up.

"There's an Akuma" she said as she shook her shoulder. Marinette bounced up, even though she was exhausted, when it came to saving Paris she had to be ready. She hadn't been able to sleep after the accidental revelation from Chat Noir, how was she supposed to get that out of her head that he could saw her at school? That was probably why he had visited her, he knew her in real life.

As she pronunce her transformation words she jumped out onto the balcony. There wasn't much light out and the sun hadn't made it's way over the horizon, it was probably around 5am.

"Why does Hawkmoth have to akumatize people so early in the morning" she groaned. Quickly though her attention was brought towards a red spark a few streets away.

Ladybug used her yo-yo to swing herself towards the trouble and was met with a young boy, probably around her age, with short black hair and dark red eyes. His costume was a long dark blue cloak draped around his shoulders tightened around her neck via a gold chain. He wore a black suit under it

Ladybug observed the scene from a near by rooftop, before going into battle she had to analyze the situation. Suddenly a police car swerved in front of the boy and a red haired man with a megaphone made his way out "In the name of the law I order you to stop".

The boy laughed "I'll order you to stop Pig" and with a flick of his wrist a red beam made it's way towards the police man and he bowed, his eyes as red as the villain's.

The boy chuckled again and continued on his way while chirping in a bittersweet melody "Where did you go Dearest?". Clearly something referred to the reason he had gotten akumatized

Where the hell was that damn cat? Thankfully there weren't many civilians around but they had to act quickly. Ladybug scanned the boy's outfit. There was nothing that could hold the akuma except for his gleaming chain. It looked unlikely but it was worth a shot.

"Good morning Lb" yawned Chat as he landed next to his partner. Ladybug just nodded, afraid that she would say something compromising, technically he and Ladybug hadn't talked in a few days and nothing had happened.

Without answering she jumped off the roof and made her way towards the villan, her partner following behind confused. "Ladybug are you okay?" he asked concerned "Oh yeah I-I'm fine" she stuttered back as she stopped behind the girl.

"Let's just get this over with" she said and rushed head first into battle.

"Pound it?" Chat Noir had no idea what had gotten into the girl, she had barely talked to him during the whole battle, she had only given him a few orders.

Ladybug was helping the young boy up, explaining what had happened. She  faced Chat "Mm I have to go" she mumbled when she was done with the victim. But before she could swing away her partner grabbed her arm.

"Ladybug did I do something wrong?" he asked worried. "No no, just.. personal problems you know?" the boy nodded, letting go of her arm. "If you even need me I'm just an Akumatization away" he yelled after her as she made her way home.

She landed in her bedroom and de transformed as she hit the mattress with her back. She sighed "Tikki I can't concentrate now, maybe I'm friends with him in my civilian form and I don't even know it" she covered her face with a pillow and groaned in it.

Tikki smiled calmly, Marinette was an amazing Ladybug and if once she slipped up nothing bad would happen "It's okay Marinette, you made it anyway, sometimes you can't put your emotions-" but the Kwami was interrupting by a knock on the trap window. She quickly hid as a surprised Marinette made her way to open it, trying to look as if she had just woken up to not arouse suspicion from the cat.

She opened the window and made her way onto the balcony. Immediately a nervous Chat Noir blurted out an apology "Marinette I'm so sorry for yesterday and I know it's dangerous now that it's daytime and we've talked about it but I thought it was best to clear things up as soon as possible" he said as he scratched the back of his neck in a nervous manner.

The girl smiled in relief, he really did look apologetic and honest, and of course Marinette trusted him. "Did something happen? Are you ok?" she asked now worried but he just chuckled drily "Just my father Princess, nothing your knight in shining armor can't handle".

The girl knew that he often tried to hide stuff that hurt him, like his father, with humor. They had talked briefly about his relationship with him in the nights that he would visit and from the little parts she had heard it was a borderline abusive household, even if Chat would never care to admit it.

"Do you wanna talk about it Kitty?" she asked as she lightly caressed his cheek but he simply shook his head and smiled at her immediate forgiveness.

"But I think we have to talk about a few things" he offered shyly and she immediately retrieved her hand from his cheek as she became red.

"Oh yeah s-sorry um come in, I mean we have time before school. I start at eight, what about you? Well you probably start at eight too seen as we're both the same age . But not to assume I mean you could for sure go to a different school! But I of course don't know-" she covered her mouth with her hand "I'm so sorry I was blabbing".

Chat laughed "I always found it so cute when you did". Marinette looked away and blushed. The way she felt about Chat was so different compared to Adrien, she felt so much more comfortable and at home around him, even if she did occasionally stutter. Not that Adrien made her uncomfortable, but it was hard to be herself with him and sometimes she had a weird feeling that there was some sort of glass separating him from the rest of the world, even his closest friends.

"Shall we?" she invited him in, knowing what laid ahead.
