"Well, well, where have you been all night?" Skylar closes her laptop looking straight at me after I close the front door.

"You know where I've been," I place my billfold onto the counter before fixing myself a cup of coffee.

"Yeah, but I don't know the name of the guy you've spent the whole night with."

"And I told you that I'm not revealing the name." I lean on the counter letting the hot liquid go down my throat.

"You're gonna have to tell me, eventually," She gets off the barstool, takes her laptop in her hand.

"And I will, when the day comes," I smirk at her.

Skylar rolls her eyes playfully before going down the hallway where her room is located. "I will find out!" She shouts.

"Good luck!" I laugh, picking my billfold up to go into my bedroom. Placing my mug on my nightstand, grabbing a t-shirt and sweatpants to change into after taking a refreshing steamy hot shower.

My mind keeps going back to the conversation Ian had with the group of guys in his office. My stomach feels like it's forming knots. Something in me is saying to stay away, don't get any deeper with the guy. It's not like I have a choice to since Ian probably not gonna have any contact with me if he believes I heard the conversation. Plus he sent me home immediately.

What kind of business does Ian run? What is he going to do if the guy doesn't give him the money? How is he going to remind the guy about the payment? I don't understand, I have so many questions and I need answers but at the same time, I don't want to know.

Stepping out of the shower, immediately wrap a soft towel around my body. Gather my things before rushing to my room. Letting my hair naturally dry. I put my dirty clothes into my basket before sitting on my bed to open my laptop. Planning to do some school work but my fingers take control and begin googling the name that has corrupted my mind. Hoping something will give me comfort.

All that shows is just pictures of him at ceremonies, events, articles of interviews, and things about the businesses he has done. There's nothing sketchy, making the knots slowly go away but there's fear filling my veins.

"Julia!" My heart stops for a few seconds because of the sudden noise. "Julia!" Knocking appears on my bedroom door.

"Yeah?" I place my hand on my chest, feeling my heartbeat calm down.

"Everyone is coming over, and I'm ordering pizza," Skylar informs me.

"Okay, I'm getting dressed and gonna try to get a little work done on some assignments before they show up."

"Alright."

Looking through every piece of notes, pondering ideas for the film project that could be chosen to be in the school film festival later in the end. Which is a big deal. The winner of the festival gets to help out on an actual movie set. It might not be a big movie but it's better than nothing. So my film has to be a masterpiece because I want to work and learn from an actual director.

Sadly, I have to pause on brainstorming and working on assignments to go get fat off of pizza and catch up with my idiot friends. Not bothering to put my things away, I climb out of bed and meet up with everyone but mainly to grab a slice of the cheesy, pepperoni pizza that smells delicious.

"She's alive!" Justin cheers right as I enter the living room. I roll my eyes, smack the back of his head while reaching over to take the paper plate Skylar holding out for me that already has two slices of pepperoni on it.

Justin grumbles, rubbing his head causing me to laugh softly. I make my way over to sit between Alice and Cole. "How's life going for you?" Alice shifts to face me.

"It's going," I laugh. "School is going well I think, I have to figure out my film for the festival later in the year. That's going to be stressing me out because I really want to win."

"Do you have any ideas?" Cole places his arm behind me.

"Nope," I shake my head, "My brain goes blank whenever I try to brainstorm." I sign and take a bite of my pizza.

Max's face lights up and moves to the edge of the couch, "What if you do a short film of Charlie's angels, and these three girls can be the stars," He points to Skylar, Lexi, and Alice while wiggling his eyebrows.

Skylar picks up the pillow that's by her side and smacks Max in the face with it. "It was a joke," he laughs, taking the pillow as a way to pull her to his side. Making my eyes shift towards Justin, his face is stern showing he wasn't okay with that action. I never got the chance to talk to Skylar about her and Justin's relationship.

Max likes Skylar, we all know that. He never gives up on her. Even when Skylar makes it clear that it's not going to happen. Part of me is worried if something is going on between Justin and her that it's going to crush Max. Might even cause tension in the friend group.

"When is your guys' first game?" I question Justin and Max knowing it's officially football season.

"Next weekend," Justin shifts in his chair. "Are you guys going to go?" His eyes are mainly on Skylar.

"Yeah, of course," Alice confirms for the whole group but Justin keeps looking at Skylar for reassurance that she'll be there.

"Yeah, definitely be there," She speaks softly while looking into Justin's eyes causing him to smile.
