An Attempt Pt. 2

Kat began to stir curtesy of her bladder. Gently sneaking out of bed she went to the bathroom. She felt different. She didn't feel the same in any way but the only constant throughout the alteration was Dom. It was only 7am so she quietly walked back in the bedroom just in time to see Dom roll over in her sleep reaching for her in the empty space whining. It made Kat's eye water. She loved this girl more than she ever thought humanly possible.

Crawling back into her spot a strong tan arm gripped around her waist crawling on top of her snuggling in as close as she could get still asleep.

"I love you." Dom weakly stated before drifting back off into a soft quiet snore.

"I love you too baby."
Kat kissed her cheek as her heart tugged at her stomach. This woman gave her butterflies. She had self control, was so kind to everyone, and always searching for a means to help others in need regardless of how busy her schedule became. She made her want to be a better form of herself. Not that Ray wasn't supportive he absolutely was. She just really wished she knew she was falling for her before she ever got engaged. She was trying to pinpoint when exactly she crashed and burned for the Angel. She couldn't. Maybe she always loved her so there was no defining moment.

She began running though memories of time she spent with Dom and Melanie at a yoga retreat one year and how much fun they had. She felt lighter afterwards. Sure the meditation helped but she was just now connecting the dots. It was actually the adorable woman snuggled up on her chest that made her feel that way. Just simply spending time with her. They always planned trips together involving everyone from the cast and their significant others or plus one at the time.

She thought back to when they all went to Paris. Dom had a date with her for once. Funny thing was it was actually Tamara. They knew it wasn't anything serious but they enjoyed each other.
"How many hot tubs are you two gonna do this in damn?" Mel asked them when they were drunk and Tamara kissed her.

Ray laughed. "They eventually stop counting at this rate, right baby?" He questioned his wife as she observed the two being chaotic play fighting.

"One can only hope." Kat laughed as Dom launched out of the tub after knocking Tamara's drink off the deck.

"You bitch!" She laughed running after her. It was clear when Dom was caught because there was a distinct squeal followed by a loud splat as her wet body smacked the ground. Everyone was laughing at the mess. A few days later Mel's husband, Tim, and Ray stayed in while the girls went out to a club.

Melanie was drunk enough to loose herself in the music dancing with Tamara as Dom turned to dance with Kat. Everyone was drunk at this point. Not to the level of being sloppy but definitely free. Kat remembered that moment vividly as Dom grabbed the back of her neck bringing their body's close as she leaned down to her so she could hear her over the deafening music.
"Are you having fun?"
Dom asked looking up at her.

"I'm having more fun now."
She flirted smirking raising her eyebrow clearly checking the woman in front of her out.

"Mmmm yeah? Why is that?"

"I've got my girl back where she should be."

"Oh really? Where is that exactly?"

"In my arms not with a revenant. You guys aren't serious are you?"

"Would it bother you if we were?"

"Answer the question cutie." Kat was smiling from ear to ear as she looked over her shoulder causing Dom's eyes to follow. Her and Mel were playfully kissing each other causing Dom's jaw to drop as her eyes widen. She wasn't angry at all it was just funny.
