Katherine was single again after a complicated divorce. One she kept secret from the media and her work collages for the simple fact she needed an escape. She didn't want to be questioned about it everyday or "checked on" somethings you just need to do alone. This was one of them. Deep down she was also a little embarrassed that Ray was the one that ended it. He complained she was married to her work not him and he felt neglected because of it. Said he would always love her more than anyone but he just couldn't do it anymore. So with that the divorce process started.

They had both agreed to keep quite about their personal lives until it was finalized and never to speak negatively about the other. If anyone asked their response would be they simply agreed to disagree but there was no animosity towards the other. They would remain friends but keep their distance from each other until it was somewhat tolerable.

At first she drank in order to cope with the massive alterations to come. She only allowed herself to do this at night and limited herself as to how much to be sure she wasn't coming on to set hungover. Unintentionally she had lost some weight. The rigorously demanding exercise program of playing Nicole Haught along with a resent diet change had her appearance looking stronger than ever. Even though Kat despised running it was tolerable with some of the cast members cracking jokes, particularly Melanie.

However, the one who picked up on her emotional distress was her onscreen lover Dominique. She knew not to pry into her personal business but always found a way to convey she was there. The Wayhaught scenes lingered throughout this stressful time period. Kat was grateful for it honestly. She had missed the physical contact of another person for several months and it was starting to get to her.

It wasn't unusual to see the pair sneaking an extra unscripted kiss in when they could or simply when they were together at times. Katherine had become Dom's rock throughout her journey with her own sexuality. Especially at panels or other Wynonna Earp events when her nerves were at their highest, Kat always calmed her in some affectionate way. Lately Katherine had gotten in such a habit of holding Dom's hand it became second nature. It provided her comfort in such a dark time feeling her ex husband's absence. Just because they had settled on their own separate paths didn't mean she didn't miss him. It was getting easier as time went on, she just wished she knew how to speed up the process.

Months had gone by and cast members were preparing for another panel in Canada. Emily has asked those going to confirm if their significant others or partners would be accompanying them so the staff knew how to schedule rooms. When Katherine wrote individual on her form Emily called her into her office. She wasn't trying to overstep but simply checking on the beloved sheriff of Purgatory. Kat told her the truth. Her boss comforted her as she broke down for the first time really since everything had happened at least to another person aside from her mother.

"Kat can I ask you a personal question? You don't have to answer if you don't want."

"I just had literally word vomit in your office so I think that's only fair."
She laughed wiping her nose with a Kleenex as the tear finally subsided.

"Did this divorce have anything to do with Nicole's and Waverly's relationship on screen? I just hope it wasn't anything caused by the show."

"No, it wasn't. I think in someways we thought we were ready for that chapter of our lives maybe we weren't. I don't think anyone thought this show was going to take off the way it did, I'm not complaining I'm very happy about that, but I think he felt unneeded. I'm an independent person, I always have been but I don't think he realized just how much until the 2nd year in on this show."

"And you're sure Dom had nothing to do with it? The reason I'm asking is because I'm sticking you two in a room together if that's ok. I just don't want to give the press any ammo if that was to get out. I don't care what you all do. I think you know that, hell I'll even support you guys if that was to happen but I'm trying to look out for you. I don't want any added stress to your already very loaded plate."
