Jalens P.O.V

I just gave Max a drawing of me and him, I really hope that he likes it. If he doesn't like it I may as well just jump off of the balcony. I hope he notices the thought I put into the picture, since I'm not much of an artist myself. Max looked over at me, he probably thinks I'm weird for staring at him. I gave him a double thumbs up and winked, like any cool guy would. Max copied my actions, causing me to laugh. Then the announcement for assembly played on the school speakers. Everyone stood up from there seats, some taking longer than others. First we did the pledge of allegiance, then we prayed the Our Father. When they started to say announcements we all sat down in our seats.

Ms. Darreff then told us about our religion test that would be on Wednesday. She said that we would spend our class time working on the study guide. Also, Ms. Darreff allowed us to have partners, which made me real excited. This is my chance to have more time talk to Max. Max looked in my direction as I signaled for him to come to me.

"Hey partner," I stated.

"Who said we were partners?" Max responded.

"I did."

"Well I didn't."

"Please be my partner Max, I'm begging you."

"Jeez, you're kinda desperate aren't ya."

I stood up and grabbed him by his face. Then I gave him a smile and nodded. Wait a minute, Max's face was turning a light shade of red. Was he blushing? Did Max like me, like that? I stared at him for a little longer until I jumped back from a shout.

"Max! Jalen! You're way too close to each other, back up right now." Ms. Darreff scolded.

I hate her, how dare she ruin our moment, by our I mean Max and I. It would have also been the perfect time to tease Max. I could told him something like "hey max, you're getting artificial light burn again" but no, Ms. Darreff had to butt in. This made me dislike her ten, no twenty times more than I already did. It's fine though I'll just make my move later.

"Hello, earth to Jalen," Max said as he waved his hand in front of my face.

"Sorry, I was just thinking of the prettiest person in the world," I replied.

"Awe, you were thinking about me," Victoria butted into our conversation.

"No I definitely wasn't talking about you."

"Fine, don't tell me the truth." Victoria turned away.

"Anyways, guess who I was thinking about."

"Were you thinking about your girlfriend?" Max sadly replied.

"What are you talking about? I don't have a girlfriend anymore we broke up."

"Well how was I supposed to know that?"
