Yes, I've made a new book 😁. This will be my dumping ground for Jaya story which lean more towards a mature rating, for various reasons. [Before anyone asks – or starts making requests – I have absolutely no intention of writing any more lemons/explicit stuff!]
This first story is a request for hydroelectricjaya – a Jaya Vampire AU.
It got a lot darker that I had initially planned and there is some fairly detailed description of blood and violence (hence the rating), but it's really important for the story to see both sides of this Jay - on the one hand, he's a ruthless killer and on the other, he's still the same cute boy with lots of insecurities (and madly in love with Nya, obviously).
I know it's a bit of bad timing – everyone's still recovering from the Seabound finale and probably in desperate need of some fluff, and here I come, torturing our favourite couple once more...
The story set in an alternate season 1. If you get confused - you'll have to read the whole thing to properly understand, as I've tried something new here.
When I was looking for information on the physiology of vampires and how the transformation happens and such, I found lots of different ideas, so I've just mixed up different bits together and added my own little Ninjago twist.
And finally, thanks to @Nomie132 and @Larissa_Ninjago_Fan who reminded me that Zane did indeed shed a tear in the episode 'Tick Tock'.

Immortal Love
And then, there was silence.
As soon as he dropped his nunchucks, the roaring thunder stopped, as did the bright flashes that had, until just a moment ago, lightened up the night.
Now, it was only the moon and the stars twinkling up in the sky, and the scenery could almost be considered idyllic.
Almost.
If it wasn't for the hundreds of charred, deformed Serpentine bodies that were lying scattered all over the ground.
Jay didn't spare them a glace though as he crossed the battlefield in quick, long strides. They didn't matter – nothing mattered right now, except for her. He had to-
"Whoa, what was that?"
Kai's, admittedly justified, question snapped him out of his trance. Not slowing down a bit, Jay turned his head to see the Fire Master having caught up to him.
"Lightning." Jay stated the obvious.
"I could see that." Kai retorted. His voice displayed a strange mix of admiration, fear and disgust at the raw power he had just witnessed. "What made you go all feral?"
"I'm not a werewolf, Kai." Jay hissed through gritted teeth. Ever since his former teammate had found out about his new nature, these kinds of comments had become a rather regular annoyance. But they didn't matter right now either, he reminded himself. All that mattered was-
"Nya." Jay's voice automatically softened saying her name. "She's in trouble," he added. After all, Kai was her brother and usually just as worried about the young Samurai as Jay himself.
"Can you sniff her out?" The Red Ninja joked, not having grasped the severity of the situation. He just didn't possess the same overly sensitive hearing as Jay, and - lucky him - he had not heard her screaming in agony.
Pressing his lips together, the former Blue Ninja responded by silently accelerating his steps. Not because he was offended though, but because Kai was right. Jay could smell Nya. He would recognise the scent of her blood anywhere, the perfect combination of sweet and spicy, high in iron, usually rich in endorphins (thanks to Sensei Wu's vigorous training regime), and occasionally flooded with oxytocin (a more recent development, thanks to their own, more private, way of working out – a more enjoyable but definitely not less demanding exercise).
