Gone (Deku x Shoto)

Chapter 11

(Izuku POV)

The next morning I woke up early and ran to the bathroom puking in the toilet. After a few minutes, I brushed my teeth and quietly walked back to our room. Sho lay on the bed asleep. His leg hanging off the king-size bed. I smiled as I remember him doing that on the small ones at the dorms. I glanced at the clock it was only 5.15 am I was way too awake to fall back asleep. I sat on the floor and opened the nearest box to me.

On top of the box was an old hoodie of mine. I hadn't seen it in years. As I lifted it out of the box it smelled like peppermint. I glanced at Sho. How much has he worn this over the years that it smells that strongly of him? I gently lay it next to me.

Underneath that is an envelope. I take out the paper with it and see my handwriting. It was the notes I wrote myself for proposing to Sho all those years ago. The ink was all smudged and I could make out the streaks. My heart clenched as realize they are Sho's tears. I must have caused him so much pain. I looked at the ring on my finger and smiled. No more sad tears. I lay the envelope on top of my hoodie.

There were a bunch of photos next. I grabbed the top one. It was one of me and Sho kissing at high school. I smiled as I remember the day clearly. The next photo was a group one with Sho and me hugging along with Tsu and Uraraka hugging. They weren't dating but I knew they liked each other it was obvious to everyone but them. A photo caught my eye underneath some of the others. There was a splash of green in the corner. I pulled the photo out and gasped. My hand flew to my mouth as looked at the picture. My mum was in the middle hugging me and my dad, Sho was standing nervously on the other side of me as we held hands. I began to cry hard as I clutched the photo, my hands shaking.

I felt a pair of strong arms go around my waist and saw Sho's legs slide next to mine as he sat behind me and held me. He ran his hand through my hair as I cried into his chest clutching the photo.

"I haven't seen her face in so long. I was scared I would forget her." I sobbed. He held me silently until I stopped crying.

"I have more photos of you mum if you want to see them? It's ok if it's too hard we have all the time in the world now." He said as he wiped away my tears.

"I'd like that Sho." I say as I look at the photo.

Sho told me that after the fire was out Aizawa and him went back to the house. He managed to save one photo album plus a few photos that were in the room that I slept in that night. He opened up the next box and inside was a soot-covered photo album. I recognized it straight away. It was my mum and dad's wedding album. I hugged Sho crying more and making it snow in our room.

I called my dad as soon as I calmed down and he came over less than five minutes later. We both had a good cry and laughed as we looked through the album. I kept a couple of the photos but gave the rest to my dad. They may not have been married all that long but they loved each other fiercely.

Later that day Sho and I met Ura and Tsu at UA. We were back in that familiar room. We both had an ultrasound and found out that our due dates were only four weeks apart. She squealed in enjoyment.

By the time we had our three-month scan my morning sickness was in full swing, not only did coffee made me puke but meat did too. I was cranky. Ura and Tsu came to visit at the weekend. Ura sat with her head on the cold dining table as we waited for Sho to finish cooking. Sho Junior was drawing with Tsu at the end of the table. I laughed at her. I passed her one of my crackers. She looked at it and turned her nose up at it.

"Try it honestly it will help just nibble at it." She took the dry crackers of me and reluctantly began nibbling on the corner. After a moment her eyes lit up and she started crying.
