RECAP:
My dad owned several small planes and licensed pilot, making some extra cash by flying people places. But my dad a good heart, and never asked for money in return if it was for an emergency. Not mention, it was a lot faster to fly than to drive. Anchorage was 4 hours away.
"Okay, i guess it will be just the two of us then" I said with disappointment
"He'll be back sweetie. He's doing a good cause" My mother said, knowing that I was disappointed
"Yea I know"
I slowly put his place mat back into the drawer. Little did I know, that after that moment we would only need two mats instead...

I sat down in my spot of the table, and started eating. My mom made raviloli. my favorite dish but not even that could make me feel better. I had this sick feeling at the pit of my stomach. I didnt eat anything old or spoiled earlier, why do I feel like this? I started to zone out..
"Hun, are you okay?" She said with a worried look
"Yea Im fine"
"You dont seem like it" She replied
"Mom, im fine!" I snapped. I instantly felt bad for my reaction. I didnt even know why i was acting like this.
"Okay, well i wont bother you anymore. Lets just eat, I dont want to argue with you" My mom said
We started to eat and sat with silence.
Once I was finished, I washed my dished and went upstairs to get ready for bed.
"Thanks for the food, and goodnight. Let me know when dad is on his way home. Im sorry for the way i talked to you too" I mumbled
"Its alright honey, I know how you get worried about dad. I do too. I will let you know, night. Love you"
"Love you"

My stomach was still aching by the time I was laying in my bed. I was face up staring at the ceiling, clutching at my stomach. Hoping the pain would just stop.
I turned around to look at the clock on my nightstand. 12:00 p.m.
He left at 6:00....what was taking him so long?
Was he already here, and my mom just forgot to let me know?
I tossed and turned for a few minutes. Then I gradually grew tired, and my eyes closed for a split second until I heard a noise.
*RING*
RING
RING
"Hello?" I heard my moms tired voice say
Irritation washed through me, as I thought who in the world would be calling our house phone at this time. I picked up the phone next to me to here through the other line.
