Ayamari

Her Mother looked down at her in horror as Ayamari proudly held up the bloodied bird, blood staining the edges of her mouth.

"Mama! Isn't it so cute?"

Cold dread went up the Mothers throat, which quickly turned into red-hot anger.

"No Ayamari! That is not cute!"

Ayamari pouted, her eyes filling up with tears. "But Mama-"

"NO. Do not show anyone else this behavior! Ever!"

Ayamari put her head down, tears starting to fall down her cheeks, and she answered quietly "Yes mama,"

Ayamari stared at at the doctor. she was supposed to find out her quirk, but when he were supposed to tell her, they began to figit, tugging at his coat. Like he was scared.

Her mother sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Can't you just tell us? It can't be that bad,"

Finally the doctor stopped tugging his coat. "I am sorry,  but your child's quirk is ... bad." The mother's lips turned down. "Don't tell me she's quirkless-"

"No, she's not quirkless, but it's something . . . worse," The doctor said, his eyes staring at Ayamari's mother, refusing to look at the five-year old.

Ayamari tilted her head to the side, confused.

"Your child's quirk is transform," He said, gripping his coat. "Why is that bad?" "In order to take the form of another, she will have to consume their blood," The Mother froze, her mouth half open, which she closed quickly. "Alright then. We will be taking our leave," She grabbed Ayamari's arm, who gave our a surprised cry, and walked quickly to door, dragging the young girl behind her.

They walked through the halls, The Mother- Osoroshi- walking with grand strides, head held up high, while the young girl stumbled behind her, trying to keep up.

Osoroshi climbed in the car, Ayamari climbing in the back seat behind her. Osoroshi started the car, silent. Ayamari squirmed in her seat as the car pulled out of the parking lot. Despite the fact she was five years old, she was smart. She knew that her mother was upset. Why would she be though? It seemed to come from learning her quirk, but why would she be sad? Ayamari already loved her quirk. It combined her two favorite things: Being like others, and blood.

They soon pulled into the garage, and Osoroshi climbed out of the car, slamming the car door behind her, and then quickly walking into the house. Ayamari struggled out of her seatbelt, and then out of the car, and then into the house. "She has a villainous quirk! That explains the abnormal behavior!" She could here her mother whispering in her fathers ear.

Villainous quirk

Villainous Quirk

Villainous Quirk

Ayamari could feel tears brimming in her eyes. Weren't villains bad people? The people on the TV who were mean and always got beaten up by the heroes? I don't want to be bad! I don't want to get hurt!

Ayamari walked into the room, hand folded in front of her neatly. Mother and Father were sitting in their armchairs, backs straight, and Mother was holding something in her lap. "Yes Mother?" Ayamari said, standing next to the chairs.

"Due to recent . . . events, I bought you Quirk Supplements," Mother said, holding up an orange bottle. Ayamari felt bile rise up in her throat. The recent 'events' Mother was talking about were and instance were a boy tripped and fell on the playground, and his knee began to bleed. Ayamari had began to lick the blood out of the wound, terrifying everyone in the playground. Mother and Father too her out of that school, and enrolled her in a different school.

"Yes Mother, how much should I take?" Ayamari said, trying her best not to sock her Mother across the face. "Once every morning, and these should stop the abnormal behavior," She said, "Your first day at the new school is tomorrow, and you will start the supplements tomorrow, understood?" Ayamari nodded. "Yes Mother,"

The next day, Ayamari was just about to walk out of the door, when a cold hand gripped her shoulder. "You forgot the supplements," Mother said, handing her an orange bottle. "Yes Mother, sorry Mother," She poured out pills in her palm, picking up a single pill, and swallowing the pill reluctantly, pouring the remaining pills in the bottle.

"Open your mouth," Mother said, snatching the bottle out of her hands. Ayamari opened her mouth, and Mother peered inside, and eventually, gave her a nod of approval. "You may leave,"

"Yes Mother,"

Later that day, during lunch, Ayamari felt a sour taste rise in her throat. She went to the nurse's office, holding her stomach.

"Have you been taking a new medication?" He asked, sitting her down in the chair. "Yes, I started taking quirk supplement's this morning," Ayamari answered. "That might be it, new medication can mess things up for a couple days,"

Ayamari nodded, sipping a glass of water.

"Your pills," Mother said, handing her the orange bottle. Ayamari had been taking the medication for about a year now, but the her body never got used to the pills. She had to excuse herself multiple times during class to be sick in the bathrooms.

Ayamari placed the pill in her mouth, carefully maneuvering it under her tongue. "Open your mouth," Ayamari opened her mouth, silently praying. Mother looked in, and after a couple seconds, gave a nod of approval. Relief poured over Ayamari, and she closed her mouth.

She walked out of her house, and began to walk to the school, and after a few block, spat out the pill, and continued to skip to school, more energized that she was in months.

She skipped over to her friends, who were entangled in a large crowd. "What's going on?" She asked, fighting her way through the crowd. "There is a fight!" Amai squealed, jumping up to try and see the people fighting in the middle. Ayamari stood on her toe's, seeing over everyone's heads. In the middle were two boys. The second one was plain, but the first boy was who got her attention. He was . . . beautiful. Beautiful red blood was stained on his face as he punched the other boy in the face.

Ayamari's face turned a bright red, butterflies taking off in her stomach. "AHH! Ayamari has a crush~" Aisuru squealed, jumping up and down. "N-NO!!" Ayamari screeched, covering her face. "Nah, your secrets safe with us, at least your little brother didn't go here, he would have told the whole school," "Who, Neito?" Ayamari said, peeking through her fingers.

Ayamari has never been happier.

She was stained in  Siako's blood, as he writhed in pain on the ground. The plastic straw stuck in the wound was sucking up blood, but not enough.

She needed more.

Suddenly, a girl walked down the hall, a scream piercing the silence. she scampered away. Ayamari laughed, standing up. She knew when enough was enough. She could always get more blood elsewhere. "Goodbye, my love," She whispered in Saiko's ear, before walking away, blood staining her front.

When she walked, she thought. Himiko Toga is a beautiful name.
