"Spencer, Spencer? Spencer!" Layla called his name while snapping her fingers in his face.

Spencer was completely out of it. He didn't know why she was here and secretly hoping she didn't come to tell him what he's currently thinking.

"Spencer helloooo" She snapped her fingers once more finally catching his attention.

"Huh what?"

"I said are you okay?" He parted his lips giving her a half-smile.

"Yeah yeah I'm good, umm, what did you say?"

"I said can I come in? I think that we should talk?"

"Layla I don't think-" She cut him off.

"Please Spencer, it won't take long I promise" He quickly glanced at her before opening the door wider letting her in. He made sure to lock the door behind him, he didn't want to take the chance of anyone making this something it wasn't. Just two friends having a conversation. That's it, nothing more. She walked to the middle of the floor stopping turning her body towards him.

"So what's up? I thought Coops concert was tonight?"

"It is, the crowd was going crazy before I was able to get away but anyway that's not why I'm here. I...came to tell you that I'm sorry for the way things ended between us...you really looked out for me and I pushed you away and I'm so sorry for that Spencer. I was just so focused on being strong for everyone around me that I didn't realize I had been drowning on the inside" Layla said to him.

"It's okay Layla, I understand. You were going through a lot mentally, but it seems that you're doing so much better and I'm happy that you are" Spencer grinned with his hands still in his pockets.

"See that's the thing though, I wouldn't have been able to get through it and get to where I'm at today if it hadn't been for all of the people who love me, especially...you" She spoke softly while slowly walking towards him.

"Nah Layla that was all you, you did the work" He disagreed. She reached for his hand placing it in hers. His palms were sweaty but of course she didn't care about that.

"You might be right, but I wouldn't have gotten this far without you, I don't think I'd still be here without you and that's why I'm here to tell you that...I'm ready Spencer. I love you, I've always loved you" She surprised him by grabbing both sides of his face and kissing his lips. He stood there looking dumbfounded and in a state of shock as she begin to undo the buttons on his shirt. It wasn't until she leaned forward for another kiss that he jumped back into reality. He grabbed her arm pushing it down.

"Layla stop we can't do this"

"I don't think I understand Spencer..."

She took a step back looking at him, her eyes full of hurt.

"Listen I appreciate you coming here and apologizing to me and I'm so grateful that you're okay. But I'm just not in that space anymore" She looked away with her arms crossed trying so hard not to cry. She thought this was what he wanted, clearly Coop had been wrong.

"Clearly I read the signs wrong you don't want to have anything to do with me" She raised her voice a little making him jump at the sound.

"That's not true, I do want you part of my life, as a friend, not the way we were. I meant what I said before. I care about you, I really do, just not that way anymore" He revealed as he watched a single tear fall from her left eye. She quickly wiped it away staring down at her feet refusing to look him in the eye. She was hurt but she wasn't going to let him see it.
