The parking lot, although plain, looks much brighter in the morning, as if it has more life to it. I was the first person to arrive here. I don't count Mathea, who was forced to sleep on a mattress brought to her in that orange room, seeing as she has always been here.
There were also guards stationed around that room, but close to the same reasoning as my exclusion of Mathea, I don't count them either.
It was quieter when I first arrived. It was so quiet that I could hear the sound of birds chirping and the screeching of a car that must have been speeding on a road not so far from this building.
It became nosier when everyone else arrived; Saint, Kane, and the guards and security that will be escorting Kane, Mathea and me to our various locations. Mathea stepped out of the room when they arrived, and she ran over to me as soon as our eyes met. Everyone expect me, Kane, Saint and Mathea are in masks.
"I'm going to miss you so much, Wills. Are you going to miss me?"
"Of course I am." I laugh as I hug my sister tightly to my chest.
I know I will miss her more than I have ever and will ever miss anybody. It's strange to know it is all over now; I no longer have to worry about Mathea's safety. Everything will be better now.
"Don't forget you promised to call and visit us eventually."
"I know, Mathea," I say, mentally promising to try and keep that promise.
Mathea pulls away from my hug and pouts her lips as her eyes begin to fill with tears. "Mum and dad are going to miss you too."
"Tell them I love them, okay?"
"Okay," Mathea says as she places her head back onto my chest. I hold my sister there for some time, but I let go, sure people are in a rush to get us all where we need to be.
Aris watches us from a window above, and I'm sure he thinks his customised Willow-mask is funny.
We said our goodbyes earlier on, and he doesn't think it necessary to say goodbye to the others seeing as he doesn't truly know them. Oddly enough, I'll miss him and all his rather alarming jokes. He left with a final joke before I walked away from him; he said he'll sell me if I don't behave. I told him I wouldn't mind helping his cause.
"You need to go now, T." It hurts to say these words, but our separation must happen.
"Don't rush me."
"T—"
"I know." Mathea releases me from the hug. We smile at each other for some seconds before I move to place a kiss on her head, and when I pull away, I see Mathea smiling.
"I love you, T."
"I love you too. Be safe, okay?"
"I will." Mathea sighs as she turns her back to me and begins to walk away. She hugs Kane on her way to the car that will drop her off at a park near our home.
"Don't have too much fun." Mathea glares at Kane, but we all know she is joking.
"No promises." Kane smiles at me as he ruffles Mathea's hair.
Mathea nears her assigned vehicle and waves to us all before stepping into the car. I watch as the car drives Mathea away from me, and I have to remind myself not to cry.
"Ready to go?" Kane asks. He leans against his assigned vehicle. He'll be transported to a safe house for a few days before Aris can organise a way for him to get out of the country.
"One second," I reply, walking over to Saint to say my final goodbye. "I forgot to ask how the mission went." I stop in front of Saint who leans against a pillar.
