I try so hard to keep my eyes shut, but the brilliance of the sun beats down in my eyes too harshly for me to keep them closed.
I sigh and my eyelids fly open at the exact same time a heavy object comes crashing down on top of me.
"Ouch!" I scream in pain, tucking my head to my chest for protection. "What the hell!"
I hear a laugh come from above me and the heavy object on top of me starts to move.
I look up and see Brooklyn sitting on top of me. "Get off of me."
I grumble shrugging my shoulders with annoyance and pulling the blanket over my head as Brooklyn laughs and does as I say.
"Hurry up, you're going to be late." Brooklyn states in her British accent as she rushes though my bedroom door and heads downstairs.
I think back to the day we first met in pre-school, and now we're graduating High School together, it's absolutely crazy to think about.
"Come on Serenity!" Brooklyn groans, coming back into my room and knocking me out of my thoughts.
Her long black hair flies behind her as she rushes around the room trying to get things ready for me.
I groan and rise from my bed, stretching out my sleepy muscles and run my my hands through the tangled mess of my hair.
"Get in the shower; I'll pick your outfit out."
Brooklyn begins to ruffles through my closet and roll my eyes because I know exactly what she's going to pick out.
Something flashy and I hate flashy, but Brooklyn is the opposite, she loves it-lives for it even.
I've always been jealous of her short, thin stature and her face which never shows any signs of blackheads or zits.
Her big blue doe shaped eyes, full plump rosy lips, and long black hair that curls at the bottom pulls it all together though.
Before getting in the shower, I study my own reflection for a little bit.
I'm tall, unlike Brooklyn, and I'm not stick thin. I have curves in the right places, but that bothers me most of the time and I become really insecure about it.
In comparison to Brooklyn, I have pin straight, long blonde hair that's finally just reaching the middle of my back. Big green eyes, and a few freckles scattered here and there around my nose and on my cheeks.
I lean in towards the mirror and brush my hand across my face lightly as if wiping it away.
Sighing, I look up from the mirror and turn to turn the shower on. Steam rises from the shower head and I undress and step in.
I wash my hair and scrub my body until I feel clean and then step out, turning the hot water off.
Drying off, I come out of the bathroom to find what Brooklyn has left me to change into.
As I suspected, she has chosen a pair of black studded high-waisted shorts with a white crop-top that has a picture of a tiger on it. Sitting at the bottom of my bed, is a pair of gold strapped sandals.
I roll my eyes and get changed, knowing Brooklyn would probably kick me in the ass if I came downstiars late and in a different outfit than she originally chose for me.
I look at myself in the mirror and sigh.
I guess this will have to do.
I put a waterfall braid down the side of my hair and clip it with a black bow and then apply some mascara and eyeliner to enhance my eyes before heading downstairs.
