Abandoned Warehouse - Northern Virginia

•  •  •  •

As the seasons changed, a year having come and gone around the sun, Fall molded into Winter that fell into Spring as Abigail was still a valid member with the Critical Incident Response Group.

She had become more skilled, more on top of her game. Often dealing with bomb threats, becoming closely acquainted with the Counterterrorism Unit.

But here she was again, in her full tactical gear as she moved alongside her team with the Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force as they arrived at the abandoned location that they had pinpointed.

"Okay we're expecting two males will also be on location as well as the women and children so be aware. Okay I want Dikson to lead the team through the front and Gideon will take three agents through the back." The young girl heard her name and gulped.

She had never led a team let alone agents on a different task force. She pulled herself away from her own team and approached the agents who were dressed in their FBI vest jackets.

"Okay so I'm here to protect you guys against the Unsubs and to ensure we receive the children without any danger." The agents nodded as Abigail walked ahead, quickly and quietly running around the building.

She kicked down the door with force before checking down every corridor. Shouting "Clear!" letting the Agents come in she moved deeper into the warehouse. The team at the front headed up the stairs as Abigail clocked a door that had claw marks along the frame.

Instead of calling for an Agent like she should've, Abigail kicked open the door and slowly went down the steps. Her feet hit the ground and she saw a lot of young children between the ages of at least 6-10 cowering in the corner.

"Hey, you're okay I'm here to save you." Abbey said, moving her gun away from their direction as she crouched down.

"Hey guys I-"

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." She heard a voice say, interrupting her shouting as she turned around to see a gun pointed at her and the children. She gulped and stood, her gun now hanging around her neck as she held her hands up.

"You don't want to do that Mickey." Abigail said as she moved slightly, covering the terrified children.

"And why not? I have an escape planned, what's one more dead weight?" Abbey nodded.

"I understand that. You want to leave, start a new life with the money you get from these kids. But that's what you said the last time, and the time before that." She took a pause.

"When does it stop?"

"You lie. You liar!"

"No. I'm not lying. I understand because I ran from home to follow someone who didn't even want me around. You can stop. I can help you. You can plead guilty and your charges will be lessened. I can't say how much but Mickey it will give you a better chance of getting out and still having a life after." Abigail tried to explain as he held the gun, his hand shaking slightly.
