I was stunned by the words that just came out of the queen's mouth. She wants me to be one of her Royal ladies. And this enraged a debate in my mind.

So clearly The 'For' argument won.

but  I am really curious. I am not even from a noble bloodline.  Moreover, I have nothing, and I stress on the word 'Nothing' especially, I am what can be furthest away from Nobel.  

"Your Majesty, if you don't mind me asking, why me?" I wanna know what I am getting myself into.

"There are many reasons Ellene, some of them are that I don't trust anyone at my court and many times it feels like they are waiting for me to mess up as a woman and then they can take my birthright away." She said. Which in my opinion was a little oversharing. But ooohk, she the queen.

"And also you were the only one in that gathering who had a shred of excitement when saw me for the first time, the rest were just waiting to kill that innocent girl just as I left. She said looking sad."
Now I feel pity for her. She is a queen and still, people judge her and wants to oppress her. It must be difficult being her and still being so graceful.

 "Also I admire your honesty and spirit,"

"So will you accept the prestigious position?" She asked me.

Oh, so I need to answer now? Like now now? Alone? I am not really a great decision-maker.

Who are you kidding? You can't make this decision yourself ..

Thank you my brain .. Like I didn't already know this.

"Your Majesty, if you don't mind could I consult with my brother?" I asked because no way I am doing this alone.

''yes, you can" She said while gesturing me to go and talk to him.

I kept my tea on the table slowly because it was freakishly expensive.
I stood up and did a horrible bow which made the queen smile a little.

It feels great that we are amusing you.

I took my departure and cane outside where Ian was waiting for me. His face was stern like he was about to punch someone. Like come on, would it hurt you to smile a little?

He looked at me after a few milliseconds and his face lit up like he was not expecting me to come back.
"What happened? Is everything alright? You took forever in there. I was getting ready to slam down the door."

Ya your face is pretty expressive mister.

"I told her everything that happened and she asked me to be her royal lady and I asked to come out and discuss it with you," I told him.

To this, he was shocked. Like really shocked. But I am not quite sure on which part. The part that I got asked or the part that I did not give my decision right away.

"Do you want to want to? Be a lady?" He asked me. That's what I love about him, he always gave me a choice in everything, even if there was none. "Strangely enough I do" I replied. "But you have to understand, I will not be able to help you or protect you here. You will have to be mature enough yourself."
He said.
" I know and I have decided that I still want to do it," I replied.

Damn girl, you are getting mature... 

He looked at me and smiled, maybe a hind of pride behind his eyes. "Then what are you waiting for?" He said gesturing me towards the queen's room. I proudly corrected my posture and ladylike walked to her majesties room.
I knocked twice before entering.

"Yes, your Majesty I will, thank you"
I respond. 

"Good, and you can call me Celest as we are gonna be friends now." She said sipping her delicious tea.

I gave her a small smile. 

Wow

I just realised how beautiful she looks from so close, and don't get me wrong she looks intense like a queen should but there is a spark in her eyes like a small light. Like a ray of small sunshine in her which makes me wanna believe her every word and tell her everything unbridged. she just looks serene and calm and composed. But I guess her worldview and the responsibility of someday ruling a grand nation as hers would do that to a person.

Oh, shoot! I totally forgot about Mary.

''Your majesty? '' I said with my pitch rising in the end indicating that it's a question. 

yay, my education!

she looked up and said, " yes, go on ". I kind of hesitated a little but decided to be a little brave and it's my time to be a great friend.

"I was wondering could I ask you for a favour? Please it's really important to me" I asked with pleading eyes.

"You can ask if it's possible or not we will decide," she said very diplomatically.

"Could I please ask Mary to be pardoned? She had done nothing wrong, and I will also take full responsibility for her in the future." I said.

"She can be but where will she go? If we let her go back to her house. Her house will be stoned and her family harmed." She said sounding concerned.

I was speechless. Shoot, I did not even think about her family.

You probable should have visited them yesterday.

But she comes from a wealthy family, I think they would have taken precautions if anything were to happen. Her father is also weapon trained. But I made another mental note to visit them on our way to town.

After a brief pause, her eyes lit up.

"I possibly have an idea..." She said with a beaming smile.
