His eyes and mind are fuzzy. He cannot see the light of day, even if he drives himself to try. He cannot speak, even if he wishes to. He cannot scream for help, his mind filled with confusion and pain. He cannot do anything.
He is helpless.
All of these inabilities, now fogging up his head, torturing his wit, spiking it with thoughts that feel like nails. It's all too painful.
But the pain causes him to burst his eyes open.
Beep, beep, beep
The heartrate monitor sings.
He opens his eyes to his surroundings, slightly familiar with the view and stench of it. The same patterns of blue and white filthy and molded tiles plastered on the wall. It was like he has seen this scenery before, though he cannot shape it in his mind.
He takes a glance to his right, seeing a beeping object and a stand that is holding a clear liquid in it. He could not recall them, though, as his eyesight was not excellent. They were just little blobs to him.
He glances again, this time to his right. He sees a red box with what appears to be the letter "M" on the top. The mysterious box also has something, like a note, attached to it.
He tries to stretch his arms to obtain the box but fails. He tries, as well, to move both of his arms this time, but it left the pain worsen. He takes a glimpse into his hands, his face eventually filled with horror.
He scrambles the tubes and lines out of panic, causing him to hyperventilate. His breathing, now quicker than ever, and his mind, now juggled.
He's panicking. His breathing, now heavy, he seeks someone to come and aid him. His mind, filled with anxiety as his grunts and sighs accompany him. He flails his hands and tries his hardest to resist the binds, but it was no use. His arms and wrists, under an iron bar attached to his bed.
"Where am I...?" his voice shaky.
"You're in Arkham Asylum," someone says. He did not notice that someone had entered his room.
"Hello, Jack," the black-caped man said.
