Kate heard the screeching noise of her coaches Kate's track coach whistled for all the girls and boys to come outside and go to the bus. Kate panicked as to where her socks could be but didn't have any time. She grabbed her jersey, her school shorts, her extra pair of socks and her Nike Free Runs (her shoes) and changed in the speed of light. Kate ran outside still fixing her hair up into a ponytail and cantered onto the bus.
Kate inspects the bus looking for an empty seat and spots one right beside Mark. As she sits down next to him, she says very quietly in disappointment, " I can't find my socks."
"WHATT?!"
"Ya.. I haven't ran a meet without them and you know that! I looked in my gym locker and my bag and I still can't find them."
"Kate.. I know you're upset but you need to believe in yourself! You need to know that you can do this race without them. Come on, you're the best runner I know! I know you can."
