Dave is sitting with Joe watching something random thing on tv in silence until Joe gets a notification from his phone, it's just Ed calling him from the basement for whatever reason
His ringtone catches Daves by surprise
"I feel like the greatest, woke up to honkies sounding like me! Never be as good, never be as good!"
"Uh Joe what's that song?" Dave says pointing at Joes phone waiting for an answer
Joe looks at him for a second before realizing it's still playing "oh uh it's an Eminem song, I forgot which one it is though but it's pretty good" he said getting up to see what Ed wants
Dave spent all day looking for that song until he could just realize that he could just put the lyrics into google to see what it was. It was Greatest by Eminem and this song just spoke to him (get it dave ig)
He goes on live on insta that day just to talk to his fans, it's about ten minutes into the live until he remembers
"Oh yeah! Guys there's this song that I heard today thanks to Joe and it's by that guy who's name sounds like the candy?"
He watches the chat go crazy, correcting him on his memory
"Ohh, Eminem? I've never listened to him when I was in America, my mama never let me listen to him for whatever reason heh-" he looks over at Ed who's sitting in his purple beanbag playing with woody
"Hey Ed do you know Eminem?"
Ed stops messing with woody for a second to answer
"Yes of course I do, he's one of my fa-" Ed gets a horrible idea that would for sure make him laugh years after it happened. "You should play this ONE song by him, it's so good" he says while silently laughing
Dave looks at him happy "ooh what song? I've only heard Greatest and Slim Shady so far, I'm excited for this one" he says while looking at him excitedly
Ed gets out of the beanbag walking towards his computer and going on YouTube. Dave awkwardly tries to look over his shoulder until Ed jokingly pushes his head away
"It's a surprise dum dum, sit there, talk to the fans until I find the right song, ok?" Ed says as he scrolls through the endless videos until he finds the one he's looking for
Dave looks a little sad but he smiles a bit and talks about random things to insta
Ed eventually finds the song and looks at Dave with a silly evil smile
"founddd itt-" he sang as he presses play, stands back and watches it all unfold
Dave looks at the computer with a big grin until he reads the song name. He looks at it surprised and turns to Ed
"Fack?? What's th-"
The song plays at full blast and Dave's face just drops, scrambling to say something he lunges at his computer turning off the computer all together. Ed's in the background just losing it, clutching his stomach with tears streaming down his face
Dave looks at his live chat, everyone's going crazy
"DAVEEE OMGHFHSHFH"
"WHY WOULD ED PLAY THAY SOMG!52:?::!???"
"🗿✌️Daves gonna get banned c yall"
Dave looks at Ed, Ed's still laughing and just goes "so sorry Dave, I'm going back to the basement to sleep, cya in the morning" he says still laughing but walking out the studio
Dave looks at his live and defeated he says "I'm- I gotta go guys..watch us preform heatwaves tomorrow at 11pm on the Jimmy Fallon show, bye byee-" he presses end and goes to bed.
The next day, Dave gets up and sees Joe talking to Drew he walks past them to get a bowl of fruity pebbles
Joe notices his quiet band mate and shakes him a bit, Dave turns around to him
"Heyy, I remembered the name of the song you wanted, it's called Greate-"
Ed walks in, looking at Dave and laughs a bit "Hey mate, sorry about that FACKing disaster" he chuckles
Joe looks at him with a confused expression, until he realized
"Ed..you didn't show him..THAT song did you??"
Dave's about to go insane
"I HAD TO JOE, IT WAS SO FUNNY. HE WAS ON LIVE TOO! IT WAS PERFECT"
"COME ON MAN, CHILDREN FOLLOW US ON THERE, ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE??"
"WELL, THEY SHOULD'NT"
Dave all of sudden goes
"Yknow what..it wasn't THAT bad, I'm never letting you pick another song tho" he says while putting a spoonful of colorful cereal in his mouth
"Alright, fair enough, see Joseph, he liked it!"
Joe cannot stand these idiots but, what would he do without them?
