"Y/N" Natsumi yelled. I snapped back to reality.
"Hm?" I turned my attention to Natsumi.
"You weren't even listening to me, huh?" Natsumi rocked her feet back and forth on the swing.
"oh, no sorry" I looked across from me into the sky to see the sun setting. Right, we wanted to talk so we went to the park alone.
"Eh it doesn't matter anymore, either way. " Natsumi went way back on the swing then jumped off.
When you look at her you would expect her to be a popular kid, maybe even nice but she is the complete opposite. She stays at the back of the classroom avoiding everyone because they are "annoying" and she is rather mean, but not in a bad way.
"You have been acting weird lately" Natsumi was now in front of me, in my face. "What the fuck happened?" she backed away then put a hand on her hip and looked down at me.
"Just main course stuff" I said backing away in the swing.
"Ok? Tell me. " she sounded annoyed.
"Ok well uh..." I hesitated. "We both want to get into the main course, I mean who doesn't. And I know you will but uh what about me? I mean you have an ultimate picked out and you are good at it but like... what about me?" I stood up on the swing then started rocking back and forth.
"And I thought you weren't a dumbass." Natsumi chuckled.
"Wha-" I started.
"It's obvious. You can like..." She thought for a moment. "Just by looking at someone you can tell how they are feeling and you instantly know what to say to make them feel better. You stay in the back and you're good at observing... THAT'S IT" Natsumi's face lit up. "ULTIMATE OBSERVER" She smirked at her idea.
"is that really an ultimate?" I turned my head.
"Y/n, there is someone in the main course with the ultimate of "Ultimate Princess", I think an Ultimate Observer wouldn't be so strange or hard to believe." She rolled her eyes.
I laugh as I think of Sonia. But she isn't wrong, she might be on to something. Maybe I shouldn't give up hope quite yet.
"I guess you're right" I said jumping off the swing.
"No, I 𝘢𝘮 right" Natsumi wrapped her arm around my shoulders, rather aggressively. "Now let's get you home before your parents start worrying. " She sighed and started walking back to my house.
I wrapped my arm around her own shoulders and chuckled while heading back to my house.
𝚃𝚒𝚖𝚎 𝚜𝚔𝚒𝚙!!
"Hey remember, you're getting in the reserve course" Natsumi put her hands on my shoulders, talking to me on my front porch. After serious moments, she can be really caring even if she doesn't want to admit it.
"Heh yeah, thank you" We briefly hugged then Natsumi started walking away.
I quietly walked into my house, trying not to wake anyone up. The house was pitch black so I assumed everyone was asleep. I made my way to my bedroom. It was hard trying not to bump into anything, but I managed. As I opened my door, I prayed it wouldn't creek as it usually did.
Huh, well aren't I lucky
I smile to myself, and walk into my room. I pop onto my bed and take out my phone.
10:46 my lock screen showed. I put the charger in my phone and I lay on my back with a bad feeling in my stomach....
