Hi everyone!

So, I've finally done it. After months of contemplating, I've finally decided to leave Wattpad and transition my works onto Archive of Our Own (AO3). Moving forward, Philophobia Book One has been fully transitioned onto AO3. Philophobia Book Two will be next. Finding Mae is already on AO3. Edelyn will remain on Wattpad.

While I'm extremely grateful for the community that has supported me on Wattpad since I started publishing fanfiction a few years ago ( you guys make me smile, make me laugh, make me fall in love with writing and help me daily improve on my storytelling!!! ), I can no longer justify using this platform for three principle reasons.

(1) I'm poor and I can't afford Wattpad premium anymore.

To put it simply, finances!!! I hate ads, and so I've always purchased premium, but with the pandemic and changes in my personal life, I can no longer afford this expense! Furthermore, AO3 is a free platform and I'd like to share my work with people without the interruption of ads and without paywalls.

(2) The treatment of authors on Wattpad.

I've seen other fanfiction authors being torn down by readers on Wattpad ( what happened to boyifyouknew, author of Golden Boy, is absolutely unacceptable, regardless of whether she was in the wrong or not ). I've read toxic comment sections, horrendous direct messages, and have witnessed an overall lack of respect for authors.

Now, mind you, I don't necessarily blame readers for this. Many are simply unaware of how hurtful and/or aggravating certain types of comments can be, and I'm sure many of my peeves come down to me being a sensitive butterfly.

The internet is a vicious world and you need tough skin. I can't control my audience, but I can control where I put my work, and I'm hoping AO3 will be kinder and more respectful.

(3) Reaching a wider audience of a wider age range.

In order to improve my writing and expand on mature themes, I'd like to reach an older audience. Of course, there are going to be eleven-year-olds everywhere and I have nothing against you little munchkins, but I want to make sure that you don't accidentally stumble onto something you're not ready for! The warning tags on AO3 will, hopefully, ease my conscience.

Thank you for the good times and for those who are already active on AO3, I look forward to seeing familiar faces :* Big hugs to you all!
