Sorry for the delay, I accidentally fell asleep while editing and it deleted everything. Anyway not super long, but enough to allow you to understand more about Revel. Also, I know I said it was two years since Revel had seen Shawn, but my timeline was screwed up when everything was deleted, so it's been changed.
Revel's life was a mess before she was raped and had Amabella at fourteen. She just... Only had to worry about two people. Clementine and herself. Her mother and father could go screw themselves.
The abuse was familiar for Revel and her little sister. Her parents had a way with lies and convinced the girls that this was normal. That flinching away from people was a normal habit because you never know when they would strike. That hiding bruise was part of one's make-up regime.
Her mom spent most of the time at a bar banging the bartender while her father switched from jail to home to work. They both always made time for the kicking, punching, hitting, and bruising of their kids.
The girls would suffer days without food or water until Revel learned to steal. Slip the smaller foods into her large hoodie pockets or sleeves and the larger food items in her backpack when no one was looking.
That was until she was caught. The day had started like any other day for Clem and Revel.
"What's for breakfast?" The six-year-old bounded into the kitchen. Her hair still wasn't brushed from the shower they snuck in after the high school kids left the school. She wore the smallest pair of gym clothes Revel could find at her school, yet they still hung off her tiny frame.
"Hair." Revel sighed, pulling out bread and a jar of peanut butter.
Clem groaned but headed back to the one bathroom in the house to smooth out her blonde curls. A few minutes later she ran back out and sat herself down at the kitchen counter and watched Revel make breakfast with the stolen goods.
"You wanna know some cool facts?" Clem asked her after a while.
Revel didn't look up from the bread she was furiously covering in peanut butter. "Hit me."
"Hot water will turn into ice faster than cold water."
"Why is that?" Revel handed her a sandwich and threw a mouthful of peanut butter and bread, Clem explained.
"If the water is initially hot, cooled water at the bottom is denser than the hot water at the top, so no convection will occur and the bottom part will start freezing while the top is still warm. This effect, combined with the evaporation effect, may make hot water freeze faster than cold water in some cases."
"I understood water, hot, and freeze from that explanation." Revel jokes.
"Another cool fact is that-" Clem was cut off by a door slamming. A few girly laughs and moans and then another door slammed.
"Let's uh... Let's go see... Mr. Franklin downtown." Revel offered not wanting her little sister to be in the same house as her father while he was cheating on Mom.
"Because you don't want to witness Dad and some random lady that's not Mom having sexual intercourse?"
"Uh... yeah... Pretty much."

"Hello, Mr. Franklin!" The two girls waved to the old man tending to the coffee shop. "How are you?"
"Tired. I'll give you ten dollars if you man the ship while I go use the restroom?" Revel's eyes widened at her sister. They barely ever earned ten dollars in a day without stealing it from someone.
