"Where's Chelsea? Why isn't she back yet?" Auggie whined when Farkle hadn't entered the classroom with his fish yet.
"Honey, I'm sure Farkle took very good care of her." Topanga assured her son.
"Hey, Matthews, why are you making us do the whole class-mascot thing anyway?" Maya was bored out of her mind with the whole fish thing. I couldn't blame her.
"Don't ruin this for me, Maya." Riley begged. "Everybody got the chance to take Chelsea home for a week and now it's my turn and I'm looking forward to it."
"Good, because if you bring her back safely, Chelsea will have survived the whole class." I rolled my eyes and Clem hid her snort with a cough.
"Then it's as good as done. You know I am fantastic with pets." Riley assured him.
"Mr. Puffles." Auggie deadpanned.
Riley looked down. "That was sad."
Farkle came running through the door, Chelsea's fish bowl in his hands. "It's Chelsea! It is." He put the bowl on Mr. Matthews desk and Clem snorted again at his attempt at a lie.
"NIce job, Farkle." Matthews complimented. "Here's your sticker." Matthews placed a sticker on Farkle's bright yellow and orange turtle neck.
"Chelsea! Are you ready to come to our house?" Auggie greeted his missed fish before turning back to Farkle. "Hey, Farkle, did you go to Phil's fish store?"
"Why would you ask me that, Auggie? Why would you think that? Why would you say that? Why?" I crumbled up my piece of paper that we were working on and threw it at the terrible liar.
"Elementary, my dear Farkle." Auggie walked up to Farkle's desk and Farkle leaned back in fear. "There's a new castle in the bowl." I turned and glared at Farkle. All he had to do was switch the fishes, not replace the whole bowl.
"Very impressive, Auggie." I told him.
"Yeah," Topanga agreed. "He watched 'Owl Detective' every day. He always knows whodunnit."
"Hoooo-dunnit!" Auggie played with his magnifier.
"Every day."
"Okay, Riley, she's all yours. Now all you have to do is feed her once a day and every once in a while, you throw her a compliment."
"You are talking about the fish, right?" Topanga clarified with her husband.
"Nope!" He chuckled. "All right, is she all ready to go, Auggie?"
"All fed and ready to go." Auggie gave the fishbowl to Riley. "Riley, here's Chelsea. She means the world to me. Don't blow this."
"This fish is in good hands." Riley assured us (though we weren't that concerned). "Let me just get our first picture together." Riley took her phone and snapped a photo of her and the fish. She looked at the photo and frowned. "Um..."
"What?"
"Let me take another one. Chelsea's upside-down."
"Oh, boy" I sighed.
"'Day one, I died!'" Riley said into the phone's camera and everyone gasped.
"Chelsea!" Auggie cried out. "No," He decided. "I'll cry for you later. Right now there's a mystery to be solved."
"What mystery, Auggie? I killed the fish."
"No, you did not kill this fish. This fish was the victim of foul play. Somebody here is responsible. The only question is..."
