We have been here for an hour and we are still here where we are earlier. The deeper the night gets the more panicked the nurses and doctors are. I have seen a lot of injured people similar to the one i saw earlier getting brought upstairs.
"I don't think we will be accommodated here." I said to Ben.
"I think so too. It's like we aren't the priority. I wonder what's upstairs, they been going on and off in there." He replied.
"That is where the infected were brought up." Someone said from behind. We looked and saw a girl at her 20's who looked like she sprained her ankle.
"I would not want to be in there. They said those who were bit by whatever monster was outside would get sick, die, and be resurrected, but as one of them." She added as she shivered as if something went past her. I gulped and looked at the elevator. I hope they stay there.
"How long have you been waiting?" Ben asked the girl.
"3 hours." She replied.
"I'm Ben, these are my brothers Dan and Kenji." Ben said as he pointed at us. Kenji was fast asleep on Ben's arms. Looks like he adapted to the noise.
"Marla." The girl said as she shooked hands with Ben and Me.
We fell silent again. I just looked at the lobby and saw that they are way more panicked than usual. They were running here and there while talking to some injured military soldiers. Everyone were looking at them and we all started getting scared.
It feels like my heart were being clenched. Suddenly Marla stood up and pulled the closest nurse she can grab.
"What's happening?" She asked.
"Nothing miss. Please get back in line." The nurse said trying to brush off Marla but she doesn't budge.
"Everyone here deserves to know what's happening!" She said while yelling to the nurse.
"And i said it's nothing!" The nurse yelled back. Probably stressed by what's happening right now.
"So please just get back in line." The nurse said one more time as she tries to cool herself.
Dozen of soldiers came in. Some went upstairs while others guards the stairs. We all looked at them.
"Code red...code red... Get ready." We heard om their radio.
"Okay everyone! Please calmly walk outside of the hospital. It's alright. The outside is perfectly safe." A nurse with a megaphone said.
Everyone looked at them with a questioning face but stood up anyway and started walking out, while some just stayed first and let everyone to go first.
"Code red.... Oh my god, don't tell me the upstairs were overunned?!" Marla yelled causing everyone near us to hear her and create a panic. Some started running while panicking and pushing others who are infront.
"Thank you! You're very helpful." The nurse she yelled at sarcastically told her.
"I mean it's the most possible reason, right?" Marla said in a bitching tone.
"We should go now." Ben said as he helped me and Kenji. He carried Kenji while holding my wrist and walked hurriedly outside.
The panick was further intensified as the sound of gun fires were heard upstairs.
Women started screaming while men cursed and started running. Creating a stampede. The exit was completely blocked by people who fell out of panick.
I am starting to panick, so is Ben. His hold on my wrist became a grip and i can tell that he was anxious as we are only 3 rooms away from the stairs.
