Chapter Sixteen

Sasha is on me before I can even get completely through the door of our room, questions flying.

"So how was it? Where did she take you? Wait, what's that?" she points to the paper plate I have in hand covered in tin foil.

"Whoa Sash slow down with the questions. And these are for you, left over from earlier," I say as I hand her the pancakes. She immediately begins to uncover them and I take advantage of her distraction, moving further into the room and falling face first into my own bed.

"OOF," I groan as Sasha sits heavily on my back a moment later, humming to herself in delight as she folds a pancake in half to eat it.

"You didn't answer my questions," she says between bites of food.

"I can't answer if I can't breathe," I wheeze out. She scoots off of me, sitting crossed legged at the end of my bed waiting. I sit up and face her.

"It was actually really nice," I start and Sasha's face brightens in anticipation. "First we went to this pottery painting place and then she took me to this really fancy restaurant-"

"Wait wait wait," Sasha interrupts. "You went to a nice restaurant and didn't bring me back anything?" she laments. I laugh and snatch a piece of pancake from her, earning myself a glare.

"Just be happy I brought you these," I say, taking a bite out of the now cold pancake. She rolls her eyes before seeming to remember something, giving me a devilish look.

"So I take it fancy food wasn't the only thing that got eaten last night," she says, wiggling her eyebrows at me and winking. I flush and finish chewing before I respond.

"Well, yeah I guess you could say that," I reply awkwardly. Sasha whoops and raises a hand to high five me, picking my hand up and doing it for me when I don't comply.

"Sash, it's just sex. You're acting like I won a Nobel peace prize."

"Y/N it is so not just sex," she says, her tone exasperated but her face still covered in a big cheesy grin. "You haven't hooked up with anyone other than Jean since high school. This is growth."

Before I can say anything in response there's a knock at the door and Jean and Connie walk in without waiting for us to answer.

"Hello ladies," Connie says before sprawling out on Sasha's bed. Jean sits in my desk chair and kicks his feet up on Sasha's, eyeing me curiously.

"What are you wearing Y/N? Those are definitely not your pants," Jean says, one eyebrow raised. I blush and look down at the sweats.

"I uh, borrowed them from a friend," I reply unconvincingly. Luckily Jean isn't able to question it further because Connie interrupts.

"We've come with a request," he says with a wink in my direction, taking the focus off of me.

"And what exactly would that be?" I ask, raising an eyebrow at him.

"The four of us, nightclub, tonight," Jean says, pointing to each of us in turn. Before I can think of an excuse to say no Sasha speaks.

"Yes! We haven't done anything fun in forever," she looks over at me excitedly and I internally groan.

"We do fun things all the time," I say.

"The library is not fun Y/N," Connie says and tosses a pillow at my head. I duck out of the way and narrow my eyes at him.

"We just have different definitions of fun," I retort. Sasha turns to me with big pleading eyes.
"Please Y/N," she asks. "It won't be fun if you don't come."

"Hey we're plenty of fun!" Jean says indignantly, causing me to laugh. Sasha stares me down with her puppy dog eyes and I groan.

"Fine," I say reluctantly, "but I reserve the right to leave whenever I want to."

"Deal!" Sasha says, a huge smile painted across her face. "Do you guys want to pregame before and just Uber?" she asks, looking between the group.

"Yes," I say before anyone else has the chance. "If you're dragging me to a club I need to at least be buzzed first." Connie and Sasha laugh at my comment but Jean looks at me with concern in his eyes, but it's gone before I can question him about it.

"Alright then it's settled, we'll be back around ten?" Jean asks and Sasha nods in response, already rambling on about getting food before we start drinking.

"I hate this song!" Hitch protests again as Jean subjects us all to his playlist.

"I second that," I grumble, finishing off my drink. I stand and walk over to where Jean sits sulkily and hold my hand out.

"Phone. Now. You're off music duty," I say. He tries to protest but I snatch his phone from him before he can. I give it to Hitch and she smiles triumphantly as she changes the song to something more upbeat.

I feel pleasantly light as I sit back down beside Connie. He hands me a cup and I look at him skeptically.

"I promise there's only one kind of alcohol in here," he assures me and I take it from him. I take a hesitant sip, coughing lightly after swallowing.

"You should warn me next time that it's straight vodka," I say, wishing I had something to chase it with.

"There's a splash of lemonade in there," he replies defensively before taking the cup back.

"I'm good anyway," I say truthfully, not wanting to push past the pleasant buzz into anything else. It was past eleven and we would all be leaving for the club soon.

"Suit yourself," he says with a shrug, downing the remainder of the drink. I scrunch my nose at him but he's unphased, having no reaction to what he just drank.

"I swear you're some kind of lizard person," I say and he coughs out a surprised laugh.

"The Ubers here," Mikasa says, raising from where she was seated on Sasha's bed. Everyone follows her cue, heading out into the hall. I feel a hand on my arm and turn.

"Don't forget your jacket Y/N," Mikasa says, handing me the jacket I'd left on my bed. "It's still cold."

"Thank you," I say with a warm smile and slip the jacket on. I link my arm through hers as we take the stairs down, partially because I drank a little more than I realized and stairs were a little difficult at the moment.

She doesn't complain, letting me cling to her until we get to the Uber. I feel bad for the man as we all pile into his car. Mikasa rides in the front while Sasha takes claim of Hitch's lap. Connie is in the middle so I sit on Jean, not the safest setup but it would be a short ride.

He wraps an arm around my waist to steady me as the man begins to drive and I smile gratefully.

"So have you been there before?" I ask in reference to the club we're going to; which had just opened a few months prior.

"Yeah actually a few times with some of the other guys in our frat," he replies. "You'll like it."

"We'll see," I say, trying to stay positive.
