Stiles POV
15 minutes. It's been 15 minutes of dreadful silence. No prays, no screams, and no guns shots. That was all it took for my anxiety to jump from moderately calm, to boarder line panic attack.
"Sti they'll be fine, take a breath." Jack ordered desperately. Though that did nothing for the raging sea of scenarios in my head to calm.
"It's been 15 minutes Jack. What if something happened?" My knee bounced with the speed of my thoughts. What if they got killed? I sent my grandmother to her death... what am I going to do?! Dad will never forgive me! He already barely trusts me, what's he gonna say when he finds out? My mind never slows as new ideas force their way to the surface.
"Stiles!" Jack calls, the worry in his voice nothing if not clear. Though before I could even let out a shaky breath a twig snaps. Reaching for the cool metal tucked into my waste band, I aim for the direction of the sound, waiting for the intruder to step forward.
"Don't shoot!" Mary calls before becoming visible through the branches of the trees. Instantly lowering my gun, I could see Jack tuck his gun back in his waist band also. His reaction time is getting better.
I watch as Mary and Bobby trail out of the woods.
"Dad.." I call in disbelief at the sight of the hunter. Pushing through the branches I watch as he stops I front of the fire, watching me. Pops walks through only seconds later, stopping at the sight of me.
"Pops.." I couldn't stop myself from calling. Looking to the two war vets we were just eating with, I get all the conformation I need before running full speed towards them. Pushing myself onto dads arms I allow only a few tears to fall.
"How'd you get here?" I ask. Pulling away I see Jack embracing pops with the amount of force I did dad. Without a word we switch, taking turns greeting the hunters.
"It took is a while but we figured it out." Dad smiled, patting Jack on the back. Looking to see who came with them, I see Uncle Gabe grinning widely. Even though we weren't actually related, because him and pops were always so close I just grew up calling him uncle.
"What no hug for me?" He teased opening his arms. Smiling, I give in to the short man.
"Where's Uncle Sammy?" I ask excited to see everyone. Jack nodded along with the question happily. This is the happiest I've seen him in months!
"There was an incident on the way here.." pops warns softly. He didn't have to say more as Jack and I share a look. He died. We've endured about four months of war, it seems it didn't take much for us to know when someone didn't make it.
"Oh" was all Jack could manage before turning to walk away. Running a hand over my face to hide my watering eyes, I sniffle. I can cry for him later, it's not safe to now.
"Give him some time." I stop pops from chasing after him. With a shocked look in his eyes, he heads my advice and settles back onto his original spot. Looking over to dad, knowing he wasn't taking this well, I watch as he sets his bag down on the floor and walks over to refill his water bottle.
"Dad?" I question as he slings his bag back over his shoulder, anger rolling of him in waves.
"We have to go back for his body." His voice was monotone, void of all emotions. Marching off towards the direction he entered the camp, Jack marches back livid.
"Jack." I warn, though it seems to fall upon deaf ears as he confronts Gabe.
"Why didn't you save him? Bring him back!" He screamed, pushing him in his fit of rage.
"Jack!" I call again. This does nothing to stop him as he continues to accuse the archangel.
"I'm not strong enough." Gabriel swallows miserably, focusing his gaze on the grass.
"Jack, enough!" I demand, this catches his attention enough for him to step away. Before I could scold the grief stricken boy, the warning bells ring violently.
"Mary keep an eye on them! Don't let dad leave!" I order as I try to rush over to the entrance. I can't even leave to check it out because just as I was about to take off two shadows emerge from the sea of cabins to my left.
The sound of the bell dies down as I watch the two people move into the clearing. I could hear dad stop breathing for a second as the two people make their way towards us. Reaching for my gun once more, I take aim at the one furthest from us. His dirty blonde hair was a mess, as he flashed his usual irritating smirk.
"Sam!" Jack smiles happily. Ignoring the fact that Lucifer stood contently behind my Uncle Jack ran over to him.
"Jack!" I call harshly. He ignores my call, embracing Uncle Sam tightly. With a tired smile he brushed jacks hair from his face, lovingly.
"Woah there spitfire, let's put that away." Lucifer put his hands up in surrender. Yet I still loose a bullet when he takes a step forward to my Uncle and Jack, letting it skim against his shoulder.
"Ouch!" He whines. Everyone goes silent, I could feel their stares as Lucifer backs into his previous spot.
"I meant to miss, so I suggest you don't move or the next one won't just sting." I spit out to the pale man. Jack pulls Sam away from Lucifer giving me a full, clear shot of the bastard.
"That won't kill me ya know?" He grinned cockily. Noting that no one was behind Lucifer, I tuck my gun back into my waist band and use my strength to slam the devils back into the tree next to him.
"I don't need it to kill you." I spat, lifting him slightly off the ground. His face turns a soft shade of pink as he claws at my hands for a breath.
"Stiles!" Jack calls and I drop him instantly. Taking a deep breath, he sits leaned up against the tree. Turning to face him, I can see the shock and slight fear in my family's eyes.
"Don't kill him." Jack pleaded. Stepping away from him, I honor the promise I made to Jack a couple of months ago.
"I want to meet Lucifer." Jack whispered out of no where. Jerking up onto a sitting position, I stare wide eyes at him.
"Why would you ever want to do that?" I cry in surprise and disbelief. He later unmoving from his spot next to me, never taking his eyes off the stars.
"I need answers only he can give me." He said simply. This was the most relaxed I've seen him since we've been here. His hair spread out above him, his right hand rested on his wings that were folded over his stomach, and his eyes didn't look sad or scared.
"Like what?" I wonder, falling back into my old spot on the ground. Propping up on my elbow I face Jack allowing my wings to spread out behind me.
"Did he ever hold any feeling for my mother? What happened to him? Does he care about me at all?" He listed off. Though I knew the answers I could see this was something he needed to see for himself.
"Okay, I promise you'll get your chance to talk to him."
"You promised!" He pleaded. With the force of will, I move away from Lucifer and back towards my family.
"Hi Uncle Sammy," I hug him tightly. Pressing a kiss to my forehead he smiles at him softly.
"Uh, is anyone else confused on what's goin on?" Bobby asked from his spot on the log, watching us all interact as normal.
"Yeah, how are you alive and why are you with Lucifer?" I ask. Shooting a pointed glare at the archangel behind me, Uncle Sam brushes through his hair in stress.
"Lucifer brought me back as a gesture of good will for Jack." He turns to the blonde nephilim besides him. Jack instantly turns his attention to his sperm donor.
"I want to talk to him." He says to no one in particular. That instantly set everyone into a fit of disapproval.
"Okay." I sigh reluctantly. This earns me a smile from him as he stand swiftly.
"Um no way, not happening." Dad cuts Jack off from taking another step closer to Lucifer. Though that doesn't seem to stop him as within seconds he's behind him as if he were never there to begin with.
"Jack!"Dad calls, but gets ignored.
"Dad, let him. He'll be fine." I try and convince. I could hear the confusion as everyone turns to watch Jack walk off with Lucifer.
"What do you mean he'll be fine? What if he decided he wants some father son time with the devil?" He growled viciously.
"He just wants to ask him some questions and I promised him he could, he deserves some closure." I argue. I could see pop smile at me along with Uncle Sam while dad frowns silently.
"He won't leave us, we're family." I smile knowing Jack would never leave us.
