The morning light blinds me as I open my eyes, I can hear the faint sound of birds chirping and my lover breathing. I synchronize our breath as I snuggle into the crook of her arm. Her auburn hair is strewn across the pillow as if she was under water. She looks to beautiful when she sleeps.

I take in her scent for a minute, honey and rosewater, and get up. I sneak to the kitchen which is lit up with the beautiful sunrise. I've always been an early riser. This morning I've decided to make lemon blueberry muffins, her favorite.

After I whip up the batter and put the unbaked muffins in the oven, I wander out into the garden and take a few snippings of daffodils and lavender. I love to give her flowers because it reminds us both of when we met in that beautiful flower field of the coast of Lyon, France.

I pull the muffins out of our french oven and arrange then on a tray with the flowers I picked in a light pink glass vase. Then I brew a cup of Earl Grey tea with two drops of honey and a splash of fresh oat milk.

Grinning, I prance over to our bedroom to find my partner just waking up.

"Good morning, mon amour" she happily mumbles in her sleepy voice.

"Good morning darling."I respond as I place myself on the white comforter decorated with green flowers.

"I've made your favorite." I smile, proud of my baking.

"This looks wonderful." she kisses me on the nose and then a sweet kiss on my lips. She brings warmth to my entire self, like a flower blooming rapidly. I will never get sick of her kisses. I study her golden complexion and feel so lucky.

I could never have a better lover.

Short and sweet :))
