"Mate?" Drystan muttered as he stared at the beautiful woman in front of him with disgust, she is the reason he has been feeling some type of way; a certain type of way he didn't like.
"Mate" Selene repeated after him quietly in a happier and lighte...
"when did you get back Z" I asked as soon as he set me down.
"About 2 hours ago" he said, his eyes glancing back to those that are training. I slapped his shoulder and stared at him with my hands on my hips "ow! What was that for?"
"How could you start training the moment you got back?" I scolded him like a child. A smile made way to his face and he ruffled my hair.
"Ah! a mum as always" he said cheekily while ruffling my hair "but you have to understand that this is what I do! It doesn't tire me out, and by the way I rested an hour before I came here"
"Well whatever!" I rolled my eyes at him before an excited smile made it's way to my face "come on let's go, I have a lot of things to fill you in on" I grabbed his hand and made to drag him away but he didn't budge "what now?"
"Your training first,come show me how much you've improved" he wiggled his hands out and stared at me sternly.
"But Z.." I started whining but the glare on his face quickly shut me up "fine"
I pulled off my hoodie; revealing the sports bra I was wearing, I then walked into the ring and looked at Z "you coming in or not" he smiled and walked into the ring. We spent the next hour training and I landed a few punches and kicks on him.
"You've gotten stronger and better, little one, I'm proud of you." He said with a smile and beads of sweat trickling down his face.
"I learnt from the best" I said stepping out of the ring and picking up my hoodie "see you during dinner?" I asked and he nodded his head.
"Of course" I gave him a big smile before walking off to my room. I took a quick shower as soon as I got into my room, and changed into a black shorts and a crop top before settling down on my bed with my phone.
I checked the news about my statement on Friday and I visibly cringed "why are you so stupid?" I asked myself as I read the news. I was still reading the news when a notification about school resumption popped up, I'm actually in college right now; a sophomore to be exact, but I take my classes online so it didn't bother me much when I realized that school will be resuming in 2 weeks. But I'm pretty sure my friends are pulling their hair right now.
"Post a picture of you hanging out with your friends on your Instagram" Elaine said all of a sudden.
"Why would I do that?" I asked, scrolling through my camera roll.
"Are you dumb?" She asked and I swear, she's rolling her eyes "to shake up Drystan and have him think what happened isn't bothering us. That, plus your speech in 2 days will definitely get a reaction out of him" a big smile appeared on my face when she was done talking.
"You're so smart" I said and selected 3 pictures from my camera roll. One out of the pictures is just me and the rest, my friends and I. I immediately posted it with the caption "fun day".
"Selene, dinner is ready" my mum said through the mind link.
"Coming mum" I stood up from the bed and walked downstairs. I sat down at the dinning table and started checking the notifications that kept coming in. "What..." I asked as someone slipped my phone away from my hands, but stopped midway as soon as I saw it was my mum
"No phone at the dinning table" mum said, wiggling my phone in front of my eyes.
"Sorry mum" I apologized. "Where's Dad and Z?"
"We are here" my Dad said as he walked in with Zen besides him "how're you princess?" He asked kissing my forehead.
"I'm fine dad" he smiled at me and then sat at the end of the dinning table where he usually sits, Zen sat besides me and mum sat besides Dad, then the food was served.
"How are you preparing for your statement love, you saw the article right?" Dad asked as soon as everyone finished their meal.
I nodded my head with a small smile on my face "yes Dad, I'm preparing for it" he smiled at me and Mum grabbed my hand softly, but I noticed Z looking around clueless.
"What's going on? What statement?" He finally asked and I shook my head, he never keeps up with the news.
"Zen you old man" my mum said and released a deep breath, she looked at me sadly "Selene found her mate" Zen immediately stood up from his chair and hugged me, faster than I could say fast.
"Oh my God, my little one is all grown" he said and kissed my forehead,but he looked at me and the sad look on my face cut him off guard "why are you so gloomy? And by the way why does she need to make a statement about that?"
I felt the tension in the room rise a bit, my parents passed each other a sad look before turning towards me. I wanted to smile at them but my face wouldn't comply with me at that moment and, I just stared at them blankly.
"He wants to reject me" I blurted out while still looking at my parents; they both shuddered and I'm sure they recalled the things that happened that day. Z's hands fell from my shoulders and I could feel the anger radiating from him.
"Who is that son of a bitch?" He growled out. I stood up and pulled him into a hug.
"Calm down Z and trust your little princess" I muttered and patted his back, he wrapped his hands around my back and muttered soothing words to me.
"Good night" I said to everyone as soon as i stopped hugging Z, I took my phone from the table and ran up to my room.
"You can do this right?" Eliana asked me and I nodded my head. We both finally figured out what to say on Friday, and that seems like the only option. "I can do this" I muttered to myself and fell asleep.
"Wake up!!!" Eliana shouted in my head and I jumped up immediately. I looked around for the alarm and I found it shattered on the floor, definitely my handiwork "it's 10:30, your statement is by 12pm. Hurry up" Eliana said hurridly and I sighed, it's finally the D-day.
"How do you know the time Eliana?" I asked rolling my eyes, but I stood up from the bed anyway "you don't have a watch"
"Well I've been awake since your 10:00 alarm rang and I've been counting the seconds" she said in a semi pissed off tone.
"Fine" I said and walked into my bathroom. I did my business and in no time I was out, I sat down in my vanity and started with my hair; it can be quite hard to tame so I start with it first.
I dried it off first with a dryer first; something i don't normally do cause of heat damage, then I applied a hair cream and started combing it out, I took out a black hair tie when I was done and tied it in front of my hair; pushing the afro curls back and popping
"Nice" I muttered to myself when I was done, I applied my makeup afterwards and then put on my dress. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled when I was done, I look beautiful and mature, I can't believe I'm the one that actually styled myself.
The dress is a semiformal black gown; that hugs my body perfectly, it has a slit from the middle and doesn't show off my curves like the dinner gown but it did justice to my body. It always gives me the aura and look I need for this, a confident and powerful aura. I paired it up with a pair of gold heels and sighed in satisfaction.
