Today I turn twelve years old and somehow I'd like to think I could enjoy my last year as a kid before my mom starts taklking about "other things". I really don't wanna have "The Talk" while I'm still a kid. "Morning honey. I made you some breakfast." my mom called from the downstairs hall. I walked as wobley as a rocking chair. I am wearing a special hearing aid where I can hear the people that talk to me directly so if someone wants to talk crap sbout me I can't hear them. "Mom, you shouldn't be cooking with your condition." I practically yelled. "I'm fine. The docter just diegnosed it so we don't know until I get my CAT scan in a couple of weeks." she then said. Her voice reminded me of a summer breeze. Comforting me in the scorching remake of everyday life. Of the daisies singing in the wind. And the humming birds humming to get sweet nectar out of the tree. My little sister is the nectar. We call her "Little Miss Nectar" because she once got herself stuck in a tree and when my brother got her out she had nectar and tree sap all over her. Soon enough it was time for the party. We opened my presents ate the cake layed the games and then my friends all fell asleep. Soon after I did too. Then everybody complained of being too hot. So I went to ask my mom where the spare heaters are. She didn't answer. Then elizabeth herad me scream. " Madilen, call the police. Carrie call the hospital. "Why" carrie said. "Its my mom dont ask questions. She's not breathing!"
