Why Why Why Donghyuk is alone

Donghyuk's POV

I sighed softly, dropping myself on the floor while letting the music loop again.

Instead of staying in our dorm, surrounded by couples, I decided to go on a walk for a bit and ended up in our new building.
So if I'm already here, I might as well do something.

It's so weird, and the timing is scary.
Right at our comeback, with a new break-up song, everyone around me decided to get together.

Jinhwan and Junhoe aren't a surprise.
With the looks they give each other, and with how close they are...
It was a matter of time before they either date or stop being close.

Jiwon and Hanbin...
I guess I can understand. Jiwon took it hard when Hanbin left, and they used to be inseparable.

Yunhyeong and Chanwoo...
Well, it feels like it just happened in a day. So I'm still getting used to it.
And now I'm surrounded by couples and feel uncomfortable about it. Great.

"Why are you here?"

I frowned, looking at the door just to see someone familiar walk in.

"Why are you here?" I asked back.

"I was in the studio."

"And I'm here."

Winner and us didn't have too many interactions. But we were still close.
After WIN, we weren't even upset at them. We're happy they won and achieved what they did.
They deserved that.

Though I guess I do miss being one big group and seeing each other more often.

"Practicing all alone? What about the others?"

"Busy dating each other." I sighed.

"Busy doing what?" He frowned, walking in to sit on one of the few benches in the room so I decided to sit up.

"Dating each other. I'm surrounded by couples so instead of being sad and alone in the dorm, I'm sad and alone here."

"Technically, you're not alone now."

"Still sad."

"Then how about we get out of here and go to eat?"

"Eat? Now? Isn't it a bit too late, Song Minho?" I chuckled.

"That's a perfectly reasonable time to eat." He sighed amused. "C'mon, get your butt off the dirty floor and let's go. I'll pay for the food."

"Well, I can't say no to free food. Help me up?" I lifted an arm for him to help me up.
It's a good opportunity to catch up a bit. We were really busy with the survival show that we barely had time for anything else. I'm really not complaining.

And some company can be nice instead of being alone.

I sighed softly as I returned back to the dorms.
It wasn't too late but I assume everyone was resting now. We don't exactly have an easy month.

But to my surprise, the light in the living room was on and I heard talking.
So I walked there, seeing all of the members sitting there.

The talking stopped when they noticed me, and we just looked at each other for a while before the guy closest to me, Jinhwan, hit me with a pillow.

"Where on earth have you been?" He asked me annoyed.

"Yeah, we've been texting you but you didn't answer." Jiwon frowned.

They texted me?

"Oh, my phone was on quiet because notifications bother me when I play music."

"Idiot." Jinhwan hit me again. "We were worried. Poor Yunhyeong was about to go out looking for you."

"It's not like I meant to make you guys worry," I dropped my bag down. "You're busy and I needed some time."

"Busy doing what? It's not like we have schedules you don't."

"Alright, alright. I'm sorry, god..." I dropped myself on the empty space on the couch.

"If you're really sorry then go make us popcorn and we'll watch a movie," Jiwon said, and the others instantly agreed.

"Why do I have to do it?"

"Because you made everyone worry."

After everyone settled and got their popcorn and drinks, we got comfortable in the living room and put on a movie.
I already ate earlier, so I wasn't feeling too hungry.

Still, it didn't stop the others from sharing their food with me although I told them it's okay.
Seriously...

But I'm not going to lie, it felt nice.
It's been a while since we got to spend a day like this without working out for 16 hours straight.

We tried to spend as much time as we could together and with our families in the past year since we had time.
The last two years weren't exactly easy for anyone.

And today...
I guess I thought the others are going to be much more focused on their relationships.
But obviously, that's not the case.

We really are a family no matter what. And even if we're busy, we're still there for each other.
I guess having everyone start dating surprised and scared me, so I didn't know what to do instead of leaving them alone and focusing on something else.

But I'm now... I'm happy to just spend some time with everyone.
