"kim y/n"

those hoarse voice that she knows too well belong to whom never miss a beat of making her heart beats anxiously. because every time that voice calls her, it feels like strike of thunders. and most of the time, it wasn't a good thing.

y/n was scared to death. but unfortunately she has no place to escape. where else could've she goes to?

she slowly getting closer to the owner of the voice, eyes locked to the ground. now at moments like this, the beautiful marble tiles seeming to be extra interesting in her eyes. she wasn't brave enough to look up, she knows what could've happen.

she commits silent prayers, hoping what will be happening next was nothing she cannot handle. but sadly before her mind can even process a single thing, a loud slap landed on her cheeks — and the sound echoed, filling the silence in the three-story bungalow.

" I didn't pay your tuition for your result to be like this!" Mr. Kim raises his voice even more, making y/n quietly trembling at her place, not having enough courage to fight back.

she fights back the urge to cry, hate to be seen in her vulnerable state.

" seriously y/n? number two? for the second time?!" Mrs. Kim throws the report cards, unfortunately landed right on her head. she silently hissed in pain, knowing her parents wouldn't care enough about her getting hurt.

" why can't you rank one again?! what happened to you?! were you not focusing I class?!"

all of these are meaningless to her as of now. at this point, she's slowly adjusting at the fact how much of a perfectionist her parents are.

her mind is occupied with what else she'll be receiving after this. oh god, hope her parents will be having some mercy toward her.

" you're grounded for two months. don't go out and study in your room. you will go out for tuitions and school purpose only, other than that is a no. I'll prepare a tight study schedule for you."

and that's a full stop.

she feels hopeless once again. feels empty once again. this is home, and it supposed to be a safe place.

" understand?" Mrs. Kim emphasizing.

she's left with no choice eventually. " yes mom, dad. "

" now go to your room and study. don't let this happen again. you just disappoint us."

and she just have no courage to protest because she knows, nothing would've change. with those teary red eyes, she eventually heading back to her room, not forgetting to shut the door close.

all she does that night was cry.

-

" what?" her mouth fell agape, eyes enlarged even more if possible. her mind goes blank, trying to process all those sickening words.

y/n feels like screaming her heart out. not even once in her lifetime would she imagine to be in this kind of situation. she hopes this is merely a hallucination.

oh too bad. this is not.

" I think I made it loud and clear for you to understand." Mrs Kim glares, her words were sharp.

" but...why him?" y/n finds herself almost protesting. or maybe she already is.

" why not? taehyun's the best student in your school. maybe he can guide you well. he's the transferred student that beat you two times in a row, right? I bet he's that smart." a side of Mrs. Kim's lips curved up into a sly smirk.

y/n badly wants to protest. she wants to say no. but in times like this where did all the courage goes to? she knows saying anything right now wouldn't be able to change anything. her mom is a very determined person, what she wants she'll get in any ways. y/n knows how slick her parents are.

out of all smart people in this world and why it has to be kang taehyun?

" but what if he didn't agree?" she asked, finding a way to cancel the idea. maybe one could try.

" he agreed. " Mrs Kim replied, clear enough for her to choke on air.

" what..."

"you heard me clearly, kim y/n. no objection. your tutoring session will start tomorrow. behave and don't make me embarrassed."

y/n has come to her own conclusion that she's hopeless. She has to accept the fact that kang taehyun — a boy he despises, will be tutoring her. just how much this thing hurt her pride.

y/n silently lets out a sigh of annoyance and without wanting to stay there any longer, she makes way towards her room.

" seriously to the hell with everything " she mumbled under her breath. first of all, she hates socializing with people. second, she hates taehyun.

Can't believe her rival will be tutoring her. Is this some cliché wattpad stories or what?

and she know she just has to prepare.
