Merchant stopped immediately when he saw the sight of how the others slept. He paused... "WHAT THE FUCK??"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Merchant sat down at the table, (which was really just a bunch of stacked up paintings-they're lazy), and drank his bitter coffee that tasted like beans and salt, (which is what it was). He stared at the dirty liquid and sighed, 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘌𝘯𝘢? he thought, gloom looming over him. Merchant had been worried for Ena ever since the start of their friendship, not only was she so absent-minded and airheaded, but she had rapid mood swings and has some sort of physical illness he has never seen before. He's not sure, but he's seen his fair share of Ena's different forms. He's sure he hasn't seen all of them, but he caught a glimpse of some sort of green-red-creature form once when Ena was drunk. Other than that, he's only seen her yellow side and her blue side. Non the less, they're ALL dangerous. Merchant met Ena while she was trying to get to The Great Runas. He also met Moony there, but she seemed to just gloss over him rather than having a mini- conversation like Ena had. Right off the bat, Ena seemed off to him. Not in a bad way, but in more of a sad way- it made him pity her. Now here we are, and Ena is one of his closest friends. He protects Ena a lot, although he doesn't see himself as a father figure, he seems to just worry too much about the people around him. Ena is careless and reminds him of a bubble- but with spikes. She goes around doing anything she can and gets herself in a lot of danger, mostly emotionally. Merci told him that Ena met her in a dangerous place, which is why Moony had to move houses since for some reason the area she originally stayed in was unsafe for Ena... It could have to do with the lack of Ena's around here. But- that was for Merci to know, not him. Merchant sighed and looked back over at the sleeping group. They all looked so-peaceful. It made him happy. Knowing that his friends were off in their dreams having the time of their lives. He smiled to himself  𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘢𝘮 𝘪 𝘧𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘥𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴? even though most of them were smart, they all had some sort of emotional flaw to them that made them sometimes extremely dumb-even Shephard. Speaking of Shephard- somehow- she was holding onto Ena while they both slept. 𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘨𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘺.. he thought, taking a sip of his- "coffee". His face clenched up again when he realized how terrible it tasted. 𝘞𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥 𝘙𝘌𝘈𝘓 𝘤𝘰𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘦..

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ena silently played with Shephard's pigtails while she was still asleep. Somehow they ended up in this position. Why? Ena had no idea, but it was comfy. She looked over at Moony,𝘚𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘢𝘴𝘭𝘦𝘦𝘱, she thought. Ena giggled lightly, Moony had her legs and arms all over the place, it seems she moves a lot when she's asleep.𝘔𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘪𝘥 𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘮.. she smiled, turning her attention to Merci. Merci was bundled up nicely in a blanket she must've gotten before getting into her sleeping bag. She had MAJOR bed-head but it didn't make her look weird- it almost made her look even MORE pretty! 𝘪 𝘥𝘪𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘭𝘦! Ena thought. Then she heard something- a clanking of glass? 𝘐𝘴 𝘔𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘵 𝘶𝘱? she thought, lifting her head up, just being able to see behind her. Ena was right, Merchant was sitting at his weirdly-shaped table. She smiled and waved and he waved back, then Ena turned back towards Shephard and continued making mini braids out of her pig tails.

~Time Skip~

After everyone was awake, Merchant started making breakfast. Even though non of them had a stomach and therefore didn't need to eat, Merchant liked it when he took care of people, so they let him do his thing. "You two were so cute last night!" Merci piped up, motioning towards Ena and Shephard. "Shut up! I was doing it for the sake of Ena's sleep schedule!" Shephard snapped, her face flushing again. Ena gasped, "you care about me!?" her eyes welled up with happy tears, "what sleep schedule!?" Merci laughed. Moony grunted and crossed her arms, to say she was jealous would be a...statement. Even though she was happy Ena was getting sleep she also had wish she was on the other side of Ena so that she would've been able to hold her.. NO! What is she saying!? Ena is a MORON! She's just messing with her mind! "Ena doesn't have one, she's too childish to pick a time." Moony rolled her eyes, glaring at Ena. "That doesn't even make any sense-" "SHUT UP Ena!" Moony cut Ena off, getting up and walking to Merchant's make-shift kitchen. "Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning..." Merci mumbled, putting a puppet to her mouth. Ena looked down at her hands, she really was just a child wasn't she? Ena could feel the hot tears welling up in her eyes again- this time they weren't happy. Merci noticed this. "Hey hey Ena-boo, no need to get upset! You know how Moony is she always acts like this! You aren't a child, ok?" Merci scooted over towards Ena and rubbed circles around her back to keep her calm. "Plus, I think she was just jealous she didn't get to hold you like Shep did..." Merci winked at her. "Tsk.." Shephard mumbled, crossing her arms. "I told you not to call me that!" she snapped. Merci giggled, "see? everyone's fine, here, let's go get you some choccy milk." Ena's eyes lighted up immediately and her and Merci went off to the kitchen, leaving Shephard alone with her thoughts.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Shephard sighed shakily and put her head in her hands. 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘯𝘺 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘢 𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘬? she thought angrily to herself. Moony knows very DAMN well what some simple insults can do to Ena, so why does she have to push it? 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘩𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴.. she pondered, but that didn't make sense, right? Moony and Ena have been the closest of friends and yet Moony always berates and makes fun of her like it's something everyone enjoys. And even after all of that, Ena still hangs out with her. Now, Shephard isn't the type of person to care about this sort of thing, but it makes her angry that such an innocent person is being BULLIED by a lanky dickhead who LITERALLY doesn't even have a brain! Shephard sighed again, preventing her anger to be let out in a scream of fury. Why did she put up with these people? Is she REALLY as soft as Merci claims her to be? She hoped not. All her life she had been training to be a guardian- a sworn protector of the Great Runas and a legend to all. However, her job was just mainly either telling people to fuck off or to go in and shut up, (as a wise one once said). Speaking of work- SHE HAD WORK TODAY. "SHIT!" she yelled-whispered, jolting upright. Shephard grabbed her staff quickly from off the ground and bolted out the door, not having the time to say goodbye. 10 minutes later Ena and Merci walked into the room to call Shephard in for breakfast, but was met with no one. "Must've had to go to work" Ena stated, Merci shrugged and they both headed back into the kitchen.
