Dream was vaguely aware of the bustle of the camp around them when he squinted his eyes open, the light still dim. He could hear rain still pattering out the tent, and distant rumbles of thunder, but the intense storm of the previous night had rolled by for the most part. "Dream, George!" he heard Karl call from right outside their tent, and he froze, suddenly very aware of George's naked body pressed against his own under the blankets. "One second!" he called back, panicking internally. George stirred a little, grumbling in protest. "George, shush," Dream mumbled, patting the elf's shoulder before scrambling to peak his head out of the tent. The last thing he wanted was for Karl to open the flap himself. His friend had a tendency to do things like that, finding it amusing to jump on people to get them moving.
Dream cleared his throat and he pushed just his head outside, keeping the flap securely blocking his body and the inside of their tent, their pushed together sleeping rolls and strewn about clothes painting quite the picture. "Whats up?" he asked Karl, who stood with his arms crossed outside, eyebrow raised. "Uh, there's still a battle happening. Thought you might want to join us." Dream nodded "Uh right, of course. George is still sleeping, I'll wake him up." Karl giggled a little "Hey I could wake him up, I'm sure it would be funny to-" "No! Uh, no, he's cranky in the morning," Dream cut him off mid-sentence. Karl looked at Dream quizzically, and Dream cursed internally. Why had he said it like that, so suspiciously? "Really, it's fine, we'll be right out," he continued, trying to act casual, even though the idea of anyone seeing the inside of their tent sent waves of panic through him. Karl shrugged "Um, okay. Breakfast is ready, see you in a few," he said before walking away.
Dream let out a deep breath as he closed the tent, face turning red. That was far too close for comfort. He looked at George, who was sitting up, face red from holding in laughter. "You are so..." he started, voice cracking in an attempt to not burst into giggles. Dream pressed a finger to his lips, glancing to the door in a warning, but a grin cracked across his face, the hilarity of it all settling in his chest. "Stupid," George finished, a silent wheeze escaping from Dream's body, and George couldn't help but quietly burst into hysteria, mouth open and face red as he tried desperately to be silent. Dream softly punched his leg, biting his lip to keep from fully cackling. It wasn't even that funny, but he and George fed off each other, and it took several minutes for them to get control of themselves, sides aching and out of breath. Dream threw some clothes at the elf, a smile still plastered on his face, grateful to be back with their friends and to have George right where he was.
"You really are a terrible liar," George said quietly as they got ready, smirking at Dream as he pulled on his shirt. George almost stopped him, enjoying having Dream naked more than he would admit, but knew they really did have to get up. Dream shook his head a little, grinning "Fine, you try next time." George shrugged as he pushed Dream's sleeping roll over to the other side of the tent, in case anyone came in later in the day "Sure, why not?" Dream rolled his eyes "Well I wasn't completely lying, you are cranky in the morning." George looked at him, mouth open in fake offense "Hey, not when I wake up with you." Dream smiled again "True, I do have a good influence on you." George stood up then, wincing a little at the pain in his side and in his backside. He briefly shot a glare at Dream "Define good," he said, humor tinting his tone. Dream pressed his lips together to keep from laughing again, and stood as well, pressing an apologetic kiss on George's cheek. "Sorry Georgie," he said softly into the elf's ear, and George melted a little, still finding himself with butterflies whenever Dream did that. "You were so good for me, though," Dream continued, voice dropping into a husky tone as he whispered in George's ear, tracing a hand up the elf's arm. George went red, and he smacked Dream on the shoulder lightly "Not right now you horny beast," he scolded lightly, giggling a little. Dream tried not to push it, a teasing smile wide on his face, as much as he wanted to insist otherwise.
