Dear whoever had the misfortune of picking up this novel,
I know that this note will never be replied to. I'm going to blame it all on the fact that everyone hates Jack Kerouac, and the people who don't are only kidding themselves. I don't know if you're reading it for school or- god forbid- for pleasure, but I figured it might as well be fun to meet someone new. I'm not desperate, I promise. Just desperately in need of someone who doesn't know my name. Perhaps that's why I'm putting this note in a book that no one ever reads. Maybe I just need to know that it's there.
If you are reading this, then you have already made a new acquaintance. You just will not know me by name. If that is not enough for you, then place this note back into the note once you are finished reading and I will wait for the next reader to respond.
If you wish to continue communication, place a note in your favorite author's worst book. I go through practically all of these books in a few weeks, so I will find your reply eventually.
The rules of our communication:
1. No names, only pseudonyms.
2. All books used to pass notes will be the property of the Stars Hollow High School library, nowhere else.
3. Be kind. Lord knows we need more of that in the world.
I hope to read your response soon.
Yours Truly,
A
