Chapter 2

Chloe was getting worried. She was used to Lucifer suddenly disappearing but now she knew what she feared she knew, she was more concerned. In a lot of the stories, Lucifer was also called Samael. A big part of Chloe hoped she was wrong, especially now she had started to catch feelings for her partner, but she couldn't keep him from her cousin.

"Good morning detective!" Lucifer suddenly appeared in front of her desk.

"Lucifer." Chloe breathed. It was like she was seeing him for the first time again. "I need to talk to you."

"Well go on then detective. You know whatever it is that this Devil is big enough to handle it. Have we got a new case?" Lucifer answered, reminding Chloe of one of the many reasons she was so worried she may be right. Lucifer clearly had some issues, he genuinely believed that he was the devil.

"Yes well, I fear it may take longer than we've got right now. The new Lieutenant is due any minute." Chloe wasn't lying, the new Lieutenant was due but she couldn't help but want to stall from finding out just who Lucifer was.

"Chloe! Did I dream it or did you say that the new Lieutenant starts today?" Jessica arrives not even noticing Lucifer to begin with.

"Er yeah, that is what I said." The new girl's face grows dark. "Oh Jess, this is my partner here. This is Lucifer Morningstar."

"Pleasure," She said, not even looking at him, simply waving her hand. "Listen Chloe, you need to be careful of this guy. Don't trust him."

"I'm sure you're being dramatic..." Chloe trails off as the entire department gathers around the bottom of the stairs.

Watching as everyone falls over themselves to win his praise and they all get shut down, Jessica can't help but smirk. When he gets to Chloe, Lucifer and Jessica, the latter finally catches a look at this Lucifer guy. He is definitely hot as hell. Snapping out of it she catches the tail end of what he says to Lucifer and Chloe before he catches sight of her.

"Jessica Decker. A relation of Chloe Decker I presume. Nice to see you again." She rolls her eyes as Chloe looks at her in shock. Lucifer suddenly realises who she is. No, she can't be. THE Jessica.

Pulling Jessica into a side room again, she turns to her cousin.

"What the hell was that!?"

"I told you not to trust him. He's one of the reasons I'm here." Jessica responded simply, shrugging her shoulders.

"Explain. Now." Chloe uses her 'Mom' voice. Jess sighed before beginning.

"He was the Chief Inspector at Scotland Yard when I worked under him. He conned us all and he turned out to be untrustworthy and just plain mean. I heard he was being transferred here which is why I came, to warn you."

"Thank you for your concern but I promise, I can take care of myself." Chloe said softening at her cousin's tone. She was clearly scared for her to come all this way.

"I know you can but I have another reason to stay now." She motioned to her hip. "I need to find him Chlo'."

"I know. I'll try to help you, I have a lead."

"I'm not a case Chloe. You have other things to focus on. Like, that hottie of a partner you have there." Jess said, confidence and smirk returning.

"He is not... I'm not discussing this with you right now." Chloe ran her hand through her hair. "Listen, go home. I'll see you later." Jessica would normally argue but the look on her cousin's face made it clear that it was not the best option.

"Fine. Let me know if you need anything. I am a detective, remember."

"I know. Thank you." The pair nodded at each other before the younger of the two walked out. "Lucifer. In here." Chloe said as she watched her cousin walk off.

"Listen Lucifer. Do you know anyone called Samael?" Chloe asked tentatively. Lucifer froze. How did she get that name? Unless? Jessica had the mark, and she had shown Chloe.

"I have to go." Lucifer said simply.

"Wait, Lucifer! That means you must know. Who is he? How do I find him?"

"You don't."
