Chapter 14 - Potential Danger

9:30pm

"We've arrived Yenna... I wonder where she would be?" Eli looked up at the night sky, the stars twinkled brightly while the moon hid among the dark clouds.

Eli noticed that Yenna had fallen asleep on her pram, making sure his daughter's jacket was carefully closed he smiled happily while adjusting Yenna's scarf.

"Guess we'll see her tomorrow morning" Eli spoke to the sleeping Yenna in a low voice, excited to see you again after such a long time, however he frowned after remembering your behaviour from yesterday's call.

"I hope she's alright..." He left the station and made his way to his house while holding onto this thought.

The next day, 10:00am

Waking up, for some reason you quickly stood up from the bed. Doing this fast movement made your head feel like static for a few seconds. After a while it adjusted and you could see your surroundings much clearer.

"...Johan?" Opening your bedroom door you noticed a tray full of food set in place onto the floor.

Kneeling down you noticed it was your favourite breakfast meal freshly cooked. You looked back and forth but Johan was nowhere to be seen.

Taking the tray inside your bedroom, you ate the food in silence and then headed to the bathroom to freshen up.

Going down the steps while carrying the tray you noticed no one inside the kitchen.

"That's weird... Wasn't Johan here last night?"  You couldn't help but feel confused at the factor that he was no where to be seen.

Suddenly, you heard a soft snore. You made your way to the living room and there he was, a sleeping Johan on the couch.

"Oh, he was here all along! He must be tired but he still made time to cook me breakfast? That's sweet of him..." Adjusting his blankets you looked at the time. Not having much planned for the day you decided to scroll on your phone to kill time.

Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock.

Bing!

"Hmm? Oh..." Without realising, while trying to kill time on your phone, you fell asleep.

Hearing the sudden notification sound woke you up so you checked your phone. It was a text message from Zoe.

[Text Messages]

Zoe: Hay gurl!! Whatcha up to?

Y/N: Not much lol hbu?

Zoe: Sameee it's so dead today, isn't it?

Y/N: It is haha

Zoe: Ah! That reminds me, there's this new hair salon that's going to open today! Wanna go check it out??

Y/N: Oohh sure! I think my dead ends would benefit from a hair cut HAHA

[End of text messages]

"Haha talking about this reminded me of Eli, I'm happy he came back." You couldn't help but smile widely while remembering your phone conversation with Eli.

Suddenly, your heart almost felt like it started to pump faster while thinking about him.

"What the...? It must have been my imagination... Right?" You gulped nervously and got up, getting ready to head out. You left a note for Johan to read once he woke up with some food and headed to meet up with Zoe in town.
