Eva's POV
"Eva Grace and Hal Cobbler," Mrs. Florence says. I turn around and look at Mary Ann in disappointment. 'It's ok' Mary Ann mouths. I smile at her sadly. I wonder who she'll be paired up with. "Mary Ann Walters and John Robins." Mary Ann's face lights up. Lucky for her, I think. She got her crush. I turn to look at Hal who's staring at his desk. I've seen him around before but we've never really talked. It's not like he was extremely handsome or anything, he has brown hair and brown eyes, pretty good looking but not that striking unlike John Robins, with his blond hair and striking green eyes, you'd understand why Mary Ann has a crush on him. His cousin was more handsome though which was probably why half the girls in the school have a crush on him. Except me of course. Suddenly, Hal looks up and meets my eyes. He raises an eyebrow at me, as if asking 'what?' and I quickly turn away. I haven't even talked to him, or started our project but I don't think he's going to like me.
