Infernal Autumn

Inferno

A giant volcano of brimstone and flames erupts from nearby.

It takes up the entire planet, clouds cover so far that I can't see the other side.

This is Impe, huh?

Legend says that a dragon rests in the middle of the volcano, yet no person has ever seen it.

My sword claims that the dragon's name is "Cadmus", yet I have no idea.

"Do you choose to die?" I hear the dragon say.

"No." My teeth clench, I breathe heavily, and dread fills my entire body. I walk away slowly.

"Then choose to!"

A burst of fire erupts into the wall I was standing behind. It consumes it, burning it and collapsing it into a column of flame and fire.

"I did not choose to harm you!"

"Then what did you do?"

His voice is dark, its wings stepping towards me one by one.

"Liar!"

"I am n..."

I fall into a pile of treasure. I run, but the pile of gold makes me slip and fall.

It bursts a burst of flames at me.

I use my magic shield to protect me against the fire.

He presses his foot against my neck. So that's what his foot looks like.

"Die!"

An eyeball appears from the sky.

He screeches.

Finally, I was saved.

So that's Cadmus, huh?

I never even got to know his name, but I will be back.
