━━━ BEFORE TAKING UP THE role of Iron Man, Tony Stark was a selfish arrogant prick—he knew this. When becoming Iron Man, he wanted to prove to the world that he wasn't the rude and self-centered man everyone thought him out to be.

And seeing Natasha go just like that broke him.

But he had learned to realize that people come and go.

He accepted that that was what she truly wanted because he knew she wanted to prove the world that she was not just an assassin raised in the Red Room to ruthlessly murder the assigned person.

"Do we know if she had family?" asked Tony as the original six—no five... sat on the dock together overlooking the vast lake before them all.

"Yeah," Steve replied. "Us."

Natasha had nobody. She grew up alone, in a deadly routine of life where there was no happiness. She wanted to show that she was more than a lonely human being and a villain. She wanted to prove that she was a hero.

After meeting Clint and joining SHIELD, she finally felt happiness for the first time in her entire life. She finally found her purpose. She got this job. Her whole life flipped on its back before her.

Although he accepted the fact that she was gone and wanted to move forward, Tony just wished she got to live a life outside of fighting a every second of her life—to be a normal human being just once.

He understood why she did it mainly because he felt the way she did about finally wanting to prove the world different.

He was going to show everyone who he really was in the Endgame.

It was her sacrifice, and she did it for the better of the world. But she was gone, and he understood, because he knew he wanted to do the same.
