Lilahs POV
I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I grumbled and pushed Elliots arms off of me. I quickly turned off the alarm and laid back into bed.Elliot fluttered his eyes. "Good morning, honey!"
I groaned into the pillows. "No!"
He rubbed my back gently. "Hey, honey, you gotta get up and going, today's the first day of chemo!"
I rubbed my eyes. "I'm really scared."
He pulled me into his chest. "You'll be okay. You're strong and we're all gonna be there to hold your hand. "
I nodded and stood up. I walked to my closet and grabbed a pair of sweats. I slid them onto my body and walked into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth quickly and splashed water on my face. I applied deodorant to my armpits and brushed my hair.
"Honey, do you want any help in there?" Elliot asks from my bedroom.
"No, I got it. " I say putting my hair in a bun.
I grab my lotion and rub it onto my face. I sprits perfume onto my hoodie and plop back onto the bed.
Elliot kissed my forehead. " I love you. "
"Love you. " i mumbled into the pillows.
He patted my hair and picked me up. "Cmon we gotta leave soon. "
I grumbled and held onto his shirt. He took me to the living room where Brendon and Ryan were waiting. Ryan smiled up at me.
"Ready?" Ryan asks standing up.
I nodded and held onto Elliot. Elliot took me to the garage and set me in the car. I buckled myself in and held my phone in my hands. I scrolled through Instagram to try and clear my mind. Ryan started the car and we were on our way. Elliot rested his hand on my stomach and rubbed it gently. He knows I have a lot of pain and is patient.
"Did you remember no food and liquids 12 hours before hand?" Ryan asks.
I nodded. "Yeah, I'm thirsty... really thirsty."
"Well you can drink after!" Ryan says cheerfully.
I know he's trying to brighten the situation but there's nothing that could possibly make me feel better. I am about to get chemicals put into my body that will make me lose hair, possibly never have kids, and make me feel like death. I know I'm strong, but, I'm not looking forward to be drained.
When I looked up we were at the hospital. I unbuckled and got out. I opened the trunk and grabbed my blanket, laptop, stuffed animals, and a book. Ryan pulled up a wheelchair, I sat in it and look at Brendon who has seemed like he always holds his breath while entering the hospital.
We strolled through the long hallways until finally getting to the elevators. Brendon pushed the up button, we sat and waited for 2 minutes until it finally slid open. Ryan pushed me into the elevator and pressed number 9. Elliot rubbed the top of my head and smiled softly down at me.
The elevator finally dinged and it was time for me to get chemicals pumped into my body. When we got to the designated chemo area it was terrifying. A bunch of people just... dying. I started to panic as a million thoughts ran through my brain. I was terrified I was going to end up like them. Elliot noticed and grabbed my hand.
"Hi! Can I have the name?" The nurse asks.
"Ross... Delilah Ross. " Ryan's says.
"Oh, great! We got your chair right over here for ya!" She says grabbing the wheelchair and pushing me towards it.
I stood up and plopped into the chair. "So comfy.... can't wait to sit here for 3 hours." I say rolling my eyes.
The nurse handed me a remote. "It massages your back, if you would like that!"
I set the remote down on the table. "Thanks."
"Can you make a fist for me? I'd like to check for a vein!" She asks poking my arm.
I made a fist and flexed my arm for her a little.
"Great! Now I'm just going to put this in, okay... on the count of 1...2...3." She shoved the needle into my arm. "Great! Now I'm just going to connect the chemo tube to the iv and then once the bag is completely empty have your parent come over to me and I'll get you all set to go! " the nurse says smiling.
I nodded and looked at Elliot. "It feels weird."
Elliot rubbed my hand and smiled. "You got this, honey!"
I felt so scared... I didn't know what was going to Happen to me. I didn't even know girls could get butthole cancer.
I chuckle to myself... the irony.Elliot looks at me. "What's funny?"
I look up at him. "Butthole cancer!"
He chuckled and shook his head.
